Features:
- Interface Between the MasterFieldbus and S400 I/O System
- Combines Capability of Binary/Analog Signal Processing with Expansion Support
- Operates in Conjunction with the S400 Series Basic and Expansion Units
The DSDX452L 5716075-U operates as the Remote I/O Basic Unit in an S400 I/O system, providing reliable signal interface for all channels within the unit. It continuously processes incoming binary signals (32 channels standard, 64 channels with expansion) and analog signals (20 channels, non-expandable) and distributes these signals through the MasterFieldbus to support steady state operation of all connected devices and modules. Seamless communication transfer is standard with the DSDX452L 5716075-U, however using an optional Expansion Unit Configuration will allow seamless capacity expansion by adding 32 additional binary channels. The DSDX452L 5716075-U has made improvements in several areas over previous I/O designs in addition to incorporating universal MasterFieldbus connection capability within the S400 system.
The DSDX452L 5716075-U provides essential I/O functions common to the entire system, and is a critical component of the control path, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of the overall automation system. One DSDX452L 5716075-U basic unit is required per installation, with optional expansion units depending on the desired channel capacity. The DSDX452L 5716075-U features a compact enclosed design with built-in power supply and is always equipped with IP20 protection rating in accordance with IEC 529.
For Expanded Channel applications, the S400 System requires an additional expansion unit connected to the DSDX452L 5716075-U basic unit via short ribbon cables. In addition to standard single unit operation, the expansion configuration also performs seamless integration. The S400 expansion configuration executes channel expansion using the internal circuitry specified in the unit options. Using this method, the expansion system continually monitors the status of all channels. If the system detects that any channel is no longer providing stable signal (outside configured tolerance levels), it will automatically indicate the status via individual LED indicators and display the channel state for diagnostic purposes.
The DSDX452L 5716075-U ABB Remote In / Out Basic Unit may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
