3300 System

The 3300 System provides continuous, online monitoring suitable for machinery protection applications, and is designed to fully meet the requirements of the American Petroleum Institute’s API 670 standard for such systems. The system’s highly modular design consists of an Instrument Rack, ac or dc Power Supply, System Monitor, and one or more monitor modules chosen to provide the required monitoring functionality. This building-block approach makes the 3300 System versatile, expandable, and cost-effective as your monitoring requirements change.

Bently Nevada 3300 System parts are used in continuous online machinery monitoring, especially where plant teams need reliable protection for rotating equipment and other critical assets. The 3300 System is built around a modular structure that can include an instrument rack, AC or DC power supply, system monitor, and selected monitor modules for different monitoring requirements. Because these systems are often tied to long-term machinery protection programs, buyers usually need exact part numbers, verified compatibility, and dependable spare-part sourcing rather than general replacement suggestions.

3300 System Monitoring and Replacement Parts

The 3300 System is designed for machinery protection applications and is referenced for meeting API 670 requirements for this type of system. Its building-block design makes it practical for facilities that need to maintain or expand monitoring functions over time. In real sourcing work, the key is matching the part to the existing rack, probe system, monitoring channel, or installation environment. Proximity sensors and probes in this series support non-contact vibration or position monitoring, helping maintenance teams track machine condition while reducing the risk of unplanned downtime. For older or installed Bently Nevada systems, accurate model matching is the safest starting point.

Featured 3300 System Parts

  • 3300/35 is a six-channel temperature monitor for 3300 System applications. It provides a practical option for racks that need to monitor several temperature points as part of an established machinery-protection arrangement. When sourcing a replacement, confirm the required temperature inputs, rack configuration, and module revision against the installed system.
  • 3300/16 is a dual vibration monitor that continuously monitors two independent channels of radial vibration and average shaft position (gap). It accepts inputs from two compatible proximity probe and Proximitor sensor systems, making it suitable for 3300 installations that need to maintain two-channel vibration and position-monitoring functions. Verify the installed probe system and required monitor configuration before selecting a replacement.
  • 3300/12 is an AC power supply module for a 3300 rack. It accepts either 95–125 Vac or 190–250 Vac single-phase input at 50/60 Hz, converts the input to DC power for the rack, and can power up to 12 monitors and their associated transducers. Its integrated line-noise filter supports stable rack power in machinery-monitoring applications; confirm the rack’s power-input arrangement before ordering.

FAQS

The following is a list of questions commonly asked by our customers. Please contact us if you have a question about our process that is not answered below.
Does the 3300/16 Vibration Monitor provide independent relay outputs for Channel A and Channel B?
By default, the standard 3300/16 monitor uses shared relays for Alert and Danger alarms across both channels. However,it can be configured via internal jumpers on the circuit board for independent channel operation or
Can we replace an AC power supply module with a DC version in our existing 3300 rack?
No, they are not directly interchangeable. The 3300 Power Supply module (such as 3300/12 AC or 3300/14 DC) requires a matching Power Input Module (PIM) installed at the back of the rack. If you switch from AC to DC, you must replace both the front power supply card and the corresponding rear PIM to avoid damaging the system.
Can we hot-swap the 3300/16 or other 3300 modules while the system is powered on?
It is strongly not recommended. Unlike the newer 3500 system, the legacy 3300 system architecture does not fully support hot-swapping. Inserting or removing modules (like 3300/16, 3300/20) while the rack is live can cause voltage spikes, leading to false trips of the machinery or permanent damage to the module's backplane connectors. Always power down the rack before replacing cards.
How do we check the physical position of the sensor using the 3300 monitor during machine installation?
During sensor installation, you can connect a standard voltmeter to the buffered output jacks on the front panel of the 3300 module. By measuring the DC gap voltage, the mechanical engineers can adjust the physical distance between the probe tip and the target shaft to ensure it sits perfectly within the linear range of the sensor system.
