Features:
- Feedback Interface Between the BSM80C-275AFX T'STAT ENCODER and Servo Drive System
- Merges High-Inertia Motor Characteristics with Precision Position Feedback
- Compatible with BSM C-series Motors and Standard Servo Drive Controllers
The BSM80C-275AFX T'STAT ENCODER functions as the primary feedback device in a BSM C-series servo system, providing reliable position and velocity data to all drive modules within the motion control architecture. It continuously transmits rotational feedback from the motor shaft to the servo controller, supporting the BSM80C-275AFX's continuous stall capability ranging from 10 lb-In (1.2 Nm) to 1185 lb-In (134 Nm) and enabling precise torque delivery with peak values typically three times the continuous rating. Seamless motion control is standard with the BSM80C-275AFX, however utilizing the optional higher load inertia configuration will allow seamless performance retention when encountering sudden inertial changes in the event of dynamic load variations.
The BSM80C-275AFX provides essential feedback functions common to the entire servo axis, and is a critical component of the motion control path, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of the overall positioning system. One BSM80C-275AFX T'STAT ENCODER is required per motor depending on the desired control precision level. The BSM80C-275AFX occupies a compact integration space at the motor rear end and is always mounted at the shaft extension (dedicated feedback position, the primary encoder mounting interface).
For high inertial load applications, the BSM C-series system requires the BSM80C-275AFX T'STAT ENCODER installed at the motor feedback interface. In addition to standard single feedback operation, the high-inertia configuration also performs automatic inertia compensation. The BSM80C-275AFX dual-feedback method executes load matching using the internal higher inertia standard specified in the C-series design options.
The BSM80C-275AFX ABB T'STAT ENCODER may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
