Features:
- Integrated High-Resolution Feedback Interfaces
- Dual-Protocol High-Speed Communications
- Hardware Watchdog & Voltage Supervision
The ABB SDCS-CON-2A features advanced onboard feedback circuitry that natively supports both analog tachometers and digital pulse encoders with differential or single-ended connections. This eliminates the need for expensive external signal conditioning cards, allowing the drive to achieve ultra-precise speed and torque regulation across the motor's entire operating range.
Equipped with both dual RS485 serial ports and a high-speed 4 Mbits/s DDCS fiber optic channel, the ABB SDCS-CON-2A ensures rapid data throughput. This design allows the board to effortlessly handle simultaneous local panel control, field excitation unit management, and real-time master-slave load sharing via fiber optic networks.
Maximizing industrial uptime, the ABB SDCS-CON-2A incorporates a dedicated hardware watchdog and an extensive multi-rail voltage monitoring matrix. If any critical logic voltage drops below its safe threshold (e.g., +5V dropping to +4.55V), the board immediately safely suppresses thyristor firing pulses to protect the power semiconductors.
The SDCS-CON-2A ABB Main Control Board for DCS500 DC Drives may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
