The ABB SDCS-DSL-H10 is an add-on communication module for DCS880 industrial drives, providing DCSLink communication and optical power link capabilities. It features X52 and X53 connectors for DCSLink and up to 4 fiber optic channels, enabling control of external field exciters, 12-pulse or higher operation, and Master-follower applications.
The module receives 24 V DC power via the X51 connector, consuming typically less than 5 W. DCSLink connectors X52 and X53 are connected in parallel, supporting drive-to-drive communication, 12-pulse operation, and field exciter control. Bus termination is managed via J1 at the start and end of the bus.
The DCSLink system allows remote control and parallel operation of up to four power units, with a maximum bus length of 100 m at 500 kBd. The SDCS-DSL-H10 is designed to operate reliably in industrial environments, with operating temperatures from −25 °C to +70 °C, storage temperatures from −40 °C to +85 °C, and 5–95 % relative humidity (non-condensing).
