Features:
- Interface Between 120VAC Field Input Signals and Remote I/O Communication Network
- Combines Capability of 32-Channel AC Input Acquisition with Stand-Alone Block I/O Architecture
- Operates in Conjunction with PLC-2, PLC-3, PLC-5/250, PLC-5 Family and SLC 5/02 Modular Controllers
The Allen-Bradley 1791-32A0 T32 Input AC Block I/O Module operates as a stand-alone remote I/O station in industrial control systems, providing reliable interface between field AC input devices and the programmable controller. It continuously processes 32 channels of 120VAC input signals (79-132VAC, 47-63Hz) and communicates status data through the Remote I/O (RIO) network to support real-time monitoring and control of all connected field devices. Seamless integration is standard with the 1791-32A0 T32 Input AC Block I/O Module, however using proper RIO network configuration will allow seamless communication with multiple controllers in the event of a primary communication path interruption. The 1791-32A0 T32 Input AC Block I/O Module has made improvements in several areas over previous block I/O designs in addition to incorporating universal 79-132VAC input voltage capability within the 32-channel architecture.
The 1791-32A0 T32 Input AC Block I/O Module provides essential input acquisition functions common to the entire control system, and is a critical component of the I/O path, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of the overall monitoring and control system. One or more 1791-32A0 T32 Input AC Block I/O Module units are required per system depending on the desired I/O channel count. The 1791-32A0 T32 Input AC Block I/O Module occupies a compact enclosure measuring 6.95 x 4.35 x 3.85 inches and can be mounted using DIN rail or panel mounting options.
For expanded I/O applications, the control system requires additional 1791-32A0 T32 Input AC Block I/O Module units installed in remote locations. In addition to standard single module operation, the distributed configuration also performs automatic communication handshaking. The RIO network configuration executes data exchange using the internal communication protocol specified in the 1791-32A0 T32 Input AC Block I/O Module options. Using this method, the remote I/O system continually monitors the health of all connected 1791-32A0 T32 Input AC Block I/O Module units. If the system detects that a primary 1791-32A0 T32 Input AC Block I/O Module is no longer providing valid input signals (outside configured voltage/current tolerance levels), it will automatically flag the status indicators and report the event through the RIO communication port.
The 1791-32A0 Allen Bradley 32 Input AC Block I/O Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
