- Voltage Gapping: Technicians configure the physical gap between the probe tip and the shaft manually. A digital voltmeter is connected to the external Proximitor sensor's "Prox" and "Com" terminals. The probe is threaded into the sleeve until the DC voltage reads exactly -10.0 Vdc (for a standard 3300 XL 8mm probe), which represents the center of the linear calibration range (approx. 50 mils or 1.27 mm gap). The mechanical locknuts on the 21000 housing are then torqued down to freeze this configuration.
