Features:
- Interface Between the Fluid Film Bearing Machine and 3300 XL 11 mm Proximity Transducer System
- Combines Capability of Non-Contacting Vibration and Displacement Measurement with Extended Linear Range Support
- Operates in Conjunction with the 3300 XL 11 mm Extension Cable and 3300 XL 11 mm Proximitor Sensor
The 330708-00-20-50-02-00 operates as the 3300 XL 11 mm Proximity Probe in a 3300 XL 11 mm transducer system, providing reliable non-contacting vibration and displacement measurements on fluid film bearing machines. It continuously converts physical displacement (axial position, differential expansion, rod position) into precise electrical signals (3.94 V/mm or 100 mV/mil output) and transmits these signals through the extension cable to support steady state monitoring of all critical machinery parameters. Seamless signal transmission is standard with the 330708-00-20-50-02-00, however using an optional Redundant Monitoring Configuration will allow seamless switchover to a backup sensor in the event of a primary probe failure. The 330708-00-20-50-02-00 has made improvements in several areas over previous 7200-series 11 mm and 14 mm probe designs in addition to incorporating universal 5/8-18 UNF thread capability within the 3300 XL 11 mm system.
The 330708-00-20-50-02-00 provides essential measurement functions common to the entire transducer system, and is a critical component of the monitoring path, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of the overall machinery protection system. One 330708-00-20-50-02-00 probe is required per measurement point depending on the desired monitoring location. The 330708-00-20-50-02-00 occupies a single probe installation point in the machine housing and is always located at the measurement position (threaded into the machine case, the dedicated probe mounting location).
For Dual Redundant Monitoring applications, the 3300 XL 11 mm System requires a second 330708-00-20-50-02-00 probe module installed in the redundant position. In addition to standard single probe operation, the redundant configuration also performs automatic switchover. The 3300 XL 11 mm dual probe configuration executes failover using the internal circuitry specified in the monitoring system options. Using this method, the redundant monitoring system continually monitors the health of both probes. If the system detects that the primary 330708-00-20-50-02-00 probe is no longer providing stable output (outside configured signal/tolerance levels), it will automatically transfer the measurement to the secondary probe and place an event in the System Event List.
The 330708-00-20-50-02-00 Bently Nevada 3300 XL 11 mm Proximity Probe may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Axial (Thrust) Position: Measuring the longitudinal movement of a shaft within its bearings.
- Radial Vibration & Position: Monitoring the side-to-side motion of rotating shafts in fluid-film bearing machines.
- Differential Expansion: Tracking the relative thermal expansion between a turbine rotor and its casing, specifically in steam turbine environments.
- Reciprocating Compressors: Measuring rod position or "rod drop" to monitor rider band wear.
- Speed & Phase Reference: Providing tachometer, zero speed, and Keyphasor signals for phase-locked data acquisition.
- Probe & Cable: Typically rated from -52°C to +177°C (-62°F to +351°F).
- Caution: Exposing the probe to temperatures below -34°C (-30°F) may cause premature failure of its internal pressure seal.
- Humidity & Ingress: 100% condensing humidity; non-submersible unless connectors are protected by specialized protectors or silicone tape.
- Chemical Resistance: Features a Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) tip and AISI 304 stainless steel case to resist corrosion.
- EMI/RFI Immunity: Improved immunity to high-frequency radio signals and electromagnetic interference, allowing for CE mark approvals without special shielded conduit.
- Output Signal: Generates a standard 3.94 V/mm (100 mV/mil) output proportional to the gap between the probe tip and the target material (typically AISI 4140 steel).
