Features:
- Bridge Between the Probe Tip and the 7200 Proximitor® Signal Conditioning Module
- Integrates Noncontacting Gap-to-Voltage Transduction with Harsh Environment Durability
- Functions Together with the 7200 Series and Standard 3300/9000 Monitoring Systems
The Bently Nevada 21504-00-12-05-02 operates as the 8 mm Standard Mount Probe in a 7200 Proximity Transducer System, providing accurate displacement measurement for all rotating and reciprocating machinery monitoring applications. It continuously generates a gap-dependent voltage signal (200 mV/mil scale factor, 80 mils linear range) from the target surface and transmits this signal through its integral coaxial cable to support real-time shaft position and vibration analysis. Robust Cable LoC™ junction construction is standard with the 21504-00-12-05-02, however using the proper 3/8-24 threaded mounting configuration will ensure secure probe retention during installation and operation in demanding industrial environments. The 21504-00-12-05-02 has made improvements in several areas over previous probe designs in addition to incorporating polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) construction capable of withstanding unusually harsh, wet and/or chemical conditions.
The 21504-00-12-05-02 provides essential sensing functions common to the entire transducer system, and is a critical component of the measurement path, directly affecting the accurate, reliable operation of the overall machinery protection system. One 21504-00-12-05-02 probe is required per measurement point depending on the desired monitoring configuration. The 21504-00-12-05-02 occupies minimal mounting space with its 1.2-inch overall case length and 0.0-inch unthreaded length, and is always positioned with its miniature male coaxial connector oriented for proper extension cable interface.
For complete transducer system applications, the 7200 System requires a matching extension cable and Proximitor® module connected to the 21504-00-12-05-02 probe. In addition to standard single-probe operation, the system configuration also performs continuous dynamic measurement. The 7200 transducer system executes signal conditioning using the internal circuitry specified in the Proximitor® options. Using this method, the measurement system continually monitors the gap between the 21504-00-12-05-02 probe tip and the observed target. If the system detects that the shaft position or vibration amplitude exceeds configured alarm thresholds (outside acceptable displacement/tolerance levels), it will automatically generate proportional voltage output and trigger appropriate machinery protection responses.
The 21504-00-12-05-02 Bently Nevada 8 mm Standard Mount Probe may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
