Features:
- Interface Between the Rotating Machine Shaft and 7200 Series Monitoring System
- Combines Capability of Eddy Current Sensing with Standard Mount Probe Design
- Operates in Conjunction with the 7200 Series and Standard 3500 Monitors
The 21505-00-40-10-02 operates as the Standard 7200 Series Proximity Probe in a monitoring system, providing reliable eddy current sensing from rotating machinery targets to the monitoring modules within the system. It continuously converts mechanical displacement and vibration data from field-mounted shafts to regulated electrical signals and transmits this data through the ClickLoc connector and cable to support steady state operation of all 7200 series and compatible monitors and modules. Seamless signal transfer is standard with the 21505-00-40-10-02, however using an optional Fluid-Resistant Cable Configuration will provide additional protection against oil, moisture, and chemical exposure in demanding industrial environments. The 21505-00-40-10-02 has made improvements in several areas over previous 7200 series probe designs in addition to incorporating universal 5mm and 8mm target size capability within the monitoring system.
The 21505-00-40-10-02 provides essential proximity sensing functions common to the entire monitoring path, and is a critical component of the measurement chain, directly affecting the accuracy and reliability of vibration and displacement data acquisition in the overall monitor system. One 21505-00-40-10-02 probe is required per measurement point depending on the desired monitoring coverage and installation location. The 21505-00-40-10-02 occupies no rack slots but extends the connection from field-mounted rotating machinery to the 7200 series or 3500 rack backplane, and is always terminated at the 7200, 3500/40M, 3500/42 or compatible monitor module input channel (far left position of the module face, the dedicated sensor input terminals).
For Dual Probe Verification applications, the 7200/3500 System requires a second 21505-00-40-10-02 proximity probe installed at the same measurement location. In addition to standard single probe operation, the redundant configuration also performs automatic cross-verification. The 7200/3500 dual probe configuration executes comparison using the internal signal processing specified in the monitor module options. Using this method, the redundant probe system continually monitors the health of both sensors. If the system detects that the primary probe is no longer providing stable output (outside configured gap voltage/tolerance levels), it will automatically validate the measurement against the secondary probe and place an event in the System Event List.
The 21505-00-40-10-02 Bently Nevada Universal AC Power Supply may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
