Features:
- Interface Between the Connected Gas Detector and the 5701 System Control Loop
- Combines Capability of Signal Processing with Alarm and Display Functions
- Operates in Conjunction with a Wide Range of Connected Gas Detectors and Application Requirements
The Honeywell 05701-A-0301 Single Channel Control Card operates as the core processing unit for a single loop of gas detection within the 5701 system, providing reliable control, display and alarm facilities for a connected 4-20mA gas detector. It continuously processes the incoming sensor drive module signal, displays the signal level on the front panel liquid crystal display, and compares the signal level with pre-defined alarm limits. When the pre-defined alarm limits are exceeded, the 05701-A-0301 raises alarms by lighting up front panel LEDs and operating optional connected relays, while simultaneously informing other cards with the alarm status information. The 05701-A-0301 also performs self-validation of its circuit components, software operation and the condition of the sensor. The operation of the 05701-A-0301 is microprocessor controlled and is fully definable for a wide range of connected gas detectors and application requirements, with the software configuration setup stored in an EEPROM.
The 05701-A-0301 provides essential control functions for a single gas detection channel, and is a critical component of the safety monitoring path, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of the overall gas detection system. One 05701-A-0301 control card is required per gas detector channel. The 05701-A-0301 occupies a single slot in the system rack and features a front panel display indicating the gas reading and channel status, with LEDs used for alarms and a push-button provided for resetting the alarms and selecting the card for use with the Engineering Card.
For applications requiring remote output of channel card readings, the 05701-A-0301 supports an optional Analogue Output Module that can be plugged into the single channel control card. In addition to standard alarm and display operation, the 05701-A-0301 performs continuous self-validation to ensure reliable gas detection performance. The 05701-A-0301 executes alarm logic using the internal microprocessor controlled circuitry specified in the control card design. Using this method, the 05701-A-0301 continually monitors the health of the connected sensor and its own circuit components. If the system detects that the gas concentration has exceeded pre-defined alarm limits, it will automatically raise the alarms, inform other cards with the alarm status information, and display the event on the front panel liquid crystal display.
The 05701-A-0301 Honeywell Single Channel Control Card may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
