- Features 3 analog inputs (12-bit, with bipolar ±10V on AI2), 8 discrete inputs (2 pulse-capable to 30kHz), 2 analog outputs (10-bit), 3 relay outputs (5A rating), and 16 preset speeds for flexible multi-speed applications without a PLC.
- Includes STO SIL3 safety function, integrated C3 EMC filter for 50m cable runs, and forced convection cooling with 1260 m³/h airflow. Operating temperature -10°C to +40°C (up to 60°C with derating) at altitudes up to 3000m.
The ATV630C25N4 is engineered for the most demanding heavy industrial process applications. Under normal duty (constant torque) conditions, it delivers an impressive 250kW (400HP) with 481A continuous output current at 2.5 kHz switching frequency. For heavy duty applications requiring high overload capability, the drive provides 220kW (300HP) with 387A continuous and an exceptional 581A transient for 60 seconds (1.5x current boost).
The ATV630C25N4 provides extensive I/O for seamless integration into complex control systems without additional modules. Three analog inputs are software-configurable for voltage (0-10V DC, 31.5 kΩ, 12-bit) or current (0-20mA, 250Ω, 12-bit). AI2 also supports bipolar voltage input (-10V to +10V) for bidirectional control applications such as reversible conveyors or agitators. Eight discrete inputs operate at 24V DC, with DI7 and DI8 configurable as high-speed pulse inputs up to 30 kHz for encoder feedback. Two analog outputs (0-10V or 0-20mA, 10-bit) can drive external meters or PLC inputs. Three relay outputs include one fault relay (NO/NC) and two sequence relays (NO), each rated 5A at 250V AC resistive, 3A at 30V DC, and 2A inductive.
The ATV630C25N4 is built to withstand harsh industrial environments while maintaining the highest safety standards. The integrated C3 category EMC filter complies with EN/IEC 61800-3 for 50m cable runs, ensuring the drive does not emit excessive electromagnetic interference that could affect nearby sensitive equipment. The Safe Torque Off (STO) function is certified to SIL 3 per IEC 61508 and ISO 13849-1, providing a hardware-based safety path that prevents unexpected motor start—critical for maintenance safety in hazardous areas.
The ATV630C25N4 SCHNEIDER Variable Speed Drive may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond
End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Water & Wastewater Infrastructure: Large-scale municipal water distribution pumps, high-volume wastewater lifting stations, desalinization high-pressure intake pumps, and regional stormwater management networks.
- Oil & Gas Processes: High-capacity crude oil transport pumps, oilfield water injection systems, gas compressor cooling fans, and refinery fluid circulation.
- Mining & Minerals (MMM): Heavy slurry transport pumps, underground mine dewatering pump matrices, and high-horsepower mill processing applications.
- Power Plants & General Industry: Boiler feed pumps, primary cooling tower fans, district heating circulation pumps, and large industrial air compressors.
- Embedded Web Server (HTTP/HTTPS): The drive's firmware incorporates a fully functional HTML5-based web server accessible via standard Ethernet ports. Operators can monitor real-time variables, check diagnostics, and view energy graphs using a standard web browser without needing proprietary automation software.
- Cybersecurity Firmware Alignment: The firmware is designed to comply with Achilles Level 2 / IEC 62443 industrial security standards. It features independent password protection for configuration, protocol filtering, and the ability to disable unused network ports/services (e.g., FTP, HTTP) to protect the high-power asset from unauthorized network access.
- Firmware Updates: Schneider Electric regularly releases firmware updates to introduce optimization algorithms, address cybersecurity patches, and enhance motor control profiles (such as expanded support for newer Synchronous Reluctance or Permanent Magnet motors). Updates are applied using the Schneider Electric EcoStruxure Automation Device Maintenance (EADM) tool or via SoMove software over a direct USB or Ethernet connection.
- Parameter Mirroring & Backup: Allows offline configuration. Engineers can pre-program the entire parameter set in the office, save it as a .smv file, and flash it to the physical drive on-site in minutes.
- Oscilloscope Function: Provides real-time graphical traces of critical variables like motor current, torque, and DC bus voltage, which is essential for tuning the 250 kW system during testing phases.
- Simply Start Menu: A guided commissioning wizard that prompts the installer to input the motor nameplate values (Voltage, Current, Frequency, Cos Phi), automatically executing a Motor Auto-Tuning (Tune) procedure to calculate the exact stator resistance.
- QR Code Diagnostics: If the drive trips, the display can generate a dynamic QR Code. Scanning this with a smartphone opens the Schneider Electric portal, instantly bringing up the exact root-cause analysis and troubleshooting steps for that specific fault code.
