Features:
- Robust 19-Inch 6U Aluminum Architecture
- Integrated High-Speed VME Backplane & Bus Distribution
- Flexible Dual-Power Redundant Design
The VM600 ABE042 is a 19-inch, 6U system rack used to house and interconnect VM600 machinery protection and condition monitoring cards, associated I/O cards, rack controllers and power supplies.
Equipped with a high-integrity backplane, the Vibro-Meter VM600 ABE042 204-042-100-011 handles critical data routing via dedicated VME, Tacho, Raw, and Open Collector buses. This enables instantaneous multi-card signal sharing and low-latency communication between processing modules and rack controllers.
The Vibro-Meter VM600 ABE042 204-042-100-011 supports dual RPS6U power supplies to deliver zero-down-time power redundancy or expanded thermal derating capabilities. A built-in dedicated check relay continuously monitors and indicates system power health status to ensure long-term operational stability.
The VM600 ABE042 204-042-100-011 Machinery Protection & Condition Monitoring System Rack may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Mechanical Protection System (MPS): Equipped with an MPC4/MPC4Mk2 card, providing continuous vibration, position, and speed protection compliant with API 670 standards for key rotating equipment (such as steam turbines, compressors, and fans), preventing catastrophic failures.
- Condition Monitoring System (CMS): Equipped with an XMx16/CMC16 card, acquiring high-resolution data for spectral analysis and predictive maintenance using VibroSight software.
- Combustion Monitoring: A dedicated card (such as XMC16) is installed in the gas turbine to monitor dynamic combustion pressure, optimize operating efficiency, and protect the combustion chamber.
- MPC4 / MPC4Mk2 (Mechanical Protection Card): Responsible for secure trip logic. Firmware updates typically involve optimization of the secure chain logic or compatibility with newer I/O card versions.
- AMC8 / XMC16 / CMC16 (Status Monitoring Card): Responsible for dynamic data acquisition. Firmware updates are usually to support more advanced spectral analysis algorithms or improve data transmission efficiency.
- AMC8 / XMC16 / CMC16 (Status Monitoring Card): Responsible for dynamic data acquisition. Firmware updates are usually to support more advanced spectral analysis algorithms or improve data transmission efficiency.
- VME Bus: Data transmission backbone, used for configuration data exchange between function cards and the CPUM.
- Tacho Bus: Distributes speed signals (from the speed sensor) to all protection cards in the rack for synchronous acquisition.
- Raw Bus: Allows modules to share raw sensor signals (such as vibration signals), enabling signal redundancy or multi-module synchronous analysis.
