Features:
- Interface Between the Test Plug and MMLG 01 Test Block
- Combines Capability of Current Handling with Safe Testing Support
- Operates in Conjunction with the MMLG Series and Protection Systems
The Alstom MMLB01 operates as the multi-finger test plug in power system protection applications, providing reliable current handling capability for testing and verification purposes. It continuously supports up to 20 A continuous current or 400 A for 1 second across all contact circuits and operates at a maximum voltage of 300 V AC or DC under continuous conditions. The Alstom MMLB01 distributes test signals through its multi-finger configuration to support safe and controlled secondary injection testing of all protection schemes and monitors. Seamless integration with the MMLG 01 test block is standard with the Alstom MMLB01, allowing testing without disturbing existing protective wiring. The Alstom MMLB01 has been designed with IP20 protection rating to ensure basic protection against accidental contact in indoor environments.
The Alstom MMLB01 provides essential testing functions for protection systems, and is a critical component of the testing path, directly affecting the safe and effective operation of protection system testing and maintenance. One Alstom MMLB01 test plug is required per MMLG 01 test block for standard testing applications. The Alstom MMLB01 features a compact multi-finger design for easy insertion and removal from the test block.
For safe operation applications, the Alstom MMLB01 requires specific precautions to be observed during use. In addition to standard testing operation, the safety configuration also performs critical insulation verification. The Alstom MMLB01 safety system continually monitors the integrity of flying leads and short-circuit paths. If the system detects that terminals 13 and 14 are being used for CT connections (which may introduce potential safety risks), it will automatically prevent unsafe operation and require verification that all leads maintain adequate insulation and continuity before testing proceeds.
The MMLB01 Alstom multi-finger test plug may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
