Features:
- Keeps the 3300 XL 8 mm probe and its cable junction accessible outside the machine case.
- Combines a 1.5 in standoff with 4.0 in nominal penetration for the selected probe position.
- Uses a sealed option-03 conduit-entry package with a 3/4-14 NPT mounting sleeve.
Bently Nevada 31000-16-10-15-040-03-02 brings a proximity probe through the machine case without burying its adjustment point inside the equipment.
The standoff, penetration sleeve and mounting thread establish the mechanical path between the external housing and the shaft target.
Cable sealing and unused-entry plugs protect the electrical junction while the probe remains serviceable from outside the casing.
The Bently Nevada 31000-16-10-15-040-03-02 Proximity Probe Housing Assembly is supported by current OEM ordering documentation.

External Probe Service Path
- Cover access: The housing cover exposes the probe-to-extension connection without opening the machine casing.
- Gap adjustment: The sleeve lets the installed probe move within the documented penetration adjustment.
- Replacement route: The probe and its cable can be withdrawn through the external housing after the conduit path is released.
- Casing boundary: The 3/4-14 NPT sleeve remains the mechanical interface between housing and machine case.
Standoff and Penetration Relationship
- Standoff reference: The 1.5 in adapter holds the housing away from the case surface.
- Penetration reference: The 4.0 in option carries the probe from the standoff toward the target.
- Adjustment window: The sleeve permits ±0.5 in of final probe-position correction.
- Support check: Long combined standoff and penetration dimensions require sleeve support to prevent resonance.
Sealed Cable Exit Arrangement
- Primary fitting: A 3/4-14 NPT fitting joins the housing to the selected conduit path.
- Reducer path: The stainless reducer changes the entry from 3/4-14 NPT to 1/2-14 NPT.
- Cable seal: The supplied grip closes around one of the documented cable-diameter ranges.
- Unused entries: Two plugs close the remaining threaded ports.
Mechanical and Environmental Boundaries
- Enclosure duty: Type 4X and IP66 address external water and dust exposure at the housing.
- Pressure boundary: The enclosure rating does not make the assembly a pressure vessel.
- Casing relationship: Radial vibration measurement requires the casing to follow the bearing motion being referenced.
- Thread torque: The retaining nut is tightened to the documented torque rather than used to force probe gap.
