Features:
- Interface Between the Proximity Probe and 3300 Monitoring System
- Combines Capability of Eddy Current Sensing with Armored Cable Protection
- Operates in Conjunction with the 3300 XL Series and Standard 3300 Monitors
The 330104-00-16-10-11-00 operates as the 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probe in industrial machinery monitoring applications, providing reliable displacement and vibration measurements to all compatible modules within the system. It continuously converts eddy current signals from rotating shafts into accurate proximity data and transmits this information through the FluidLoc cable to support steady state monitoring of all critical rotating equipment. Seamless signal transmission is standard with the 330104-00-16-10-11-00, however using an optional Redundant Probe Configuration will allow seamless switchover to a backup sensor in the event of a primary probe failure. The 330104-00-16-10-11-00 has made improvements in several areas over previous probe designs in addition to incorporating M10 x 1 thread mounting capability with integrated armor protection.
The 330104-00-16-10-11-00 provides essential sensing functions common to the entire monitoring path, and is a critical component of the protection system, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of the overall machinery monitoring system. One or two 330104-00-16-10-11-00 proximity probes are required per measurement point depending on the desired redundancy level. The 330104-00-16-10-11-00 occupies minimal installation space with its 160 mm overall case length and is always located at the measurement point with 0 mm unthreaded length for flush-mount applications (the dedicated probe mounting position).
For Dual Redundant Monitoring applications, the 3300 System requires a second 330104-00-16-10-11-00 proximity probe module installed in the redundant measurement position. In addition to standard single probe operation, the redundant configuration also performs automatic switchover. The 3300 dual probe configuration executes failover using the internal circuitry specified in the monitor options. Using this method, the redundant sensing system continually monitors the health of both probes. If the system detects that the primary 330104-00-16-10-11-00 probe is no longer providing stable output (outside configured signal/tolerance levels), it will automatically transfer the measurement to the secondary probe and place an event in the System Event List.
The 330104-00-16-10-11-00 Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probe may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Vibration Measurement: Monitoring dynamic radial vibration on fluid-film bearing machines.
- Position Measurement: Measuring static axial position (thrust) to prevent internal machine contact.
- Speed and Keyphasor® Applications: Providing timing and speed signals for phase measurements and RPM tracking.
- Small Shaft Monitoring: Ideal for measuring shafts smaller than 51 mm (2 inches) where high accuracy is required.
- No Internal Firmware: As analog eddy current sensors, the probes themselves do not have firmware.
- System Updates: If you are integrating these probes into a larger monitoring system (like the Bently Nevada 3500 System), you may need to update the Rack Configuration Software to ensure the 3300 XL 8 mm transducer type is correctly recognized and scaled.
- Installation & Gapping: Configuration is done physically by setting the gap voltage.
- Standard Gap: Typically set to -9 Vdc, which corresponds to a distance of approximately 1.27 mm (50 mils) from the target.
- Calibration: The system is factory-calibrated for AISI 4140 steel; different target materials require different scale factor settings in the monitor configuration.
- Interchangeability: All 3300 XL 8 mm components are interchangeable without the need for individual bench calibration.
