Features:
- Interface Between the Machine Surface and 3300 NSv Proximitor® Sensor System
- Combines Capability of Displacement Detection with Chemical Resistance
- Operates in Conjunction with the 3300 NSv Transducer System and Standard 3500 Monitoring System
The 330901-00-40-10-02-05 operates as the NSv Proximity Probe in a 3300 NSv transducer system, providing reliable displacement measurement of rotating machinery components. It continuously detects eddy current variations across 0.5 to 2.5 mm linear range while maintaining signal accuracy through PPS probe tip and non-armored cable construction. Seamless signal transmission is standard with the 330901-00-40-10-02-05, however using an optional CableLoc™ design will ensure 220 N (50 lb) pull strength at the connection point in demanding industrial environments. The 330901-00-40-10-02-05 has made improvements in several areas over previous RAM probe designs in addition to incorporating superior chemical resistance capability within the 3300 NSv system.
The 330901-00-40-10-02-05 provides essential sensing functions common to the entire transducer system, and is a critical component of the measurement path, directly affecting the accuracy and reliability of the overall vibration monitoring system. One 330901-00-40-10-02-05 probe is required per measurement channel depending on the desired monitoring point. The 330901-00-40-10-02-05 occupies no rack slots and is always mounted directly on the machine bearing housing (typically in a 1/4-28 UNF threaded mounting position).
For complete system operation, the 3300 NSv system requires the 330901-00-40-10-02-05 proximity probe to convert mechanical displacement into electrical signals. In addition to standard vibration measurement, the 330901-00-40-10-02-05 configuration also performs mechanical interchangeability. The 330901-00-40-10-02-05 probe assembly executes compatibility using the ClickLoc™ gold-plated connector specified in the probe specifications. Using this method, the proximity probe continually ensures connection integrity with 50 lb locking force. If the system detects that the probe signal is compromised (outside configured sensitivity of 7.87 V/mm or resistance tolerance of 7.45 Ω ± 0.50), it will indicate a fault condition in the monitoring system and require probe inspection.
The 330901-00-40-10-02-05 Bently Nevada NSv Proximity Probe may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Target Machinery: Primarily used on centrifugal air compressors, refrigeration compressors, and process gas compressors.
- Small Targets: Ideal for measuring radial vibration on shafts smaller than 51 mm (2 in) or axial position on flat targets smaller than 15 mm (0.6 in).
- Measurement Types: Supports radial vibration/position, axial (thrust) position, tachometer/zero speed, and Phase Reference (Keyphasor) signals.
- Connector: Features a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector made of gold-plated brass. These connectors are designed to lock into place to prevent loosening during operation.
- Cabling: Uses a 75-ohm coaxial cable with Fluoroethylene Propylene (FEP) insulation, capable of operating between - 34℃and +177℃.
- Interoperability: The probe must be used with a 3300 XL NSv Proximitor Sensor and requires a consistent electrical length across the probe, extension cable, and sensor for accurate calibration.
- Hazardous Areas: Certified for use in hazardous areas by authorities such as the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) in North America and BASEEFA in Europe.
- Electromagnetic Compatibility: Complies with the European CE mark due to improved RFI/EMI immunity, which prevents high-frequency radio signals from interfering with measurements.
- Environmental Protection: Includes a Viton O-ring to seal differential pressure between the probe tip and case.
