Description
The Bently Nevada 3500/90 Communication Gateway Module provides seamless serial communication between the 3500 Machinery Protection System and plant information systems such as Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). It collects static and real-time data from modules in the rack over a high-speed internal network, sending requested information to external systems efficiently.
The module supports a variety of protocols through interchangeable I/O modules, giving users flexibility to integrate with different plant communication standards. Using the 3500 Rack Configuration Software, operators can optimize data flow by assigning the most critical information to contiguous registers within the module, ensuring rapid and prioritized communication.
Front panel indicators provide clear operational feedback. The OK LED signals proper module operation, while the TX/RX LED indicates active communication with other 3500 rack modules. This allows operators to quickly verify system status and troubleshoot connectivity issues without disrupting the rack.
Designed for industrial environments, the 3500/90 operates at -30°C to 65°C (-22°F to 149°F), can be stored between -40°C and 85°C (-40°F to 185°F), and tolerates 95% non-condensing humidity. With a typical power consumption of 3.6 watts, the module combines high-speed communication with energy-efficient operation, making it a reliable and robust solution for plant automation integration.
