Features:
- Interface Between the Industrial Process Environment and 3500 Monitoring System
- Combines Capability of Proximity Sensing with Hazardous Area Multiple Approvals
- Operates in Conjunction with the 3500/45 and Standard 3500 Monitors
The 330800-28-00-085-03-02 operates as the PROXPAC XL Proximity Transducer in a 3500 rack, providing reliable displacement measurement signals to all monitors within the system. It continuously converts target proximity into proportional electrical signals through the 3300 XL 8 mm probe and transmits this data through the rack backplane to support steady state operation of all vibration and position monitors. Seamless measurement integration is standard with the 330800-28-00-085-03-02, however using an optional Redundant Sensor Configuration will allow seamless switchover to a backup transducer in the event of a primary probe failure. The 330800-28-00-085-03-02 has made improvements in several areas over previous transducer designs in addition to incorporating universal hazardous area approvals within the 3500 rack.
The 330800-28-00-085-03-02 provides essential measurement functions common to the entire rack, and is a critical component of the protection path, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of the overall monitor system. One or two 330800-28-00-085-03-02 transducers are required per measurement point depending on the desired redundancy level. The 330800-28-00-085-03-02 occupies only a single probe installation location in the machine housing and is always positioned at the designated measurement point (the dedicated transducer mounting position).
For Dual Redundant Measurement applications, the 3500 System requires a second 330800-28-00-085-03-02 transducer assembly installed in the redundant location. In addition to standard single transducer operation, the redundant configuration also performs automatic switchover. The 3500 dual transducer configuration executes failover using the internal circuitry specified in the monitor options. Using this method, the redundant measurement system continually monitors the health of both transducers. If the system detects that the primary 330800-28-00-085-03-02 is no longer providing stable output (outside configured gap voltage/tolerance levels), it will automatically transfer the measurement to the secondary transducer and place an event in the System Event List.
The 330800-28-00-085-03-02 Bently Nevada PROXPAC XL Proximity Transducer may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
