Features:
- Combines 3300 XL 8 mm probe, 1.0m cable, and Proximitor sensor in one IP66 housing; no separate extension cable or Proximitor enclosure needed.
- Made of advanced thermoplastic with glass/conductive fibers; resists dust, water jets, and corrosion
- 2 mm linear range (80 mils); 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil) scale factor; frequency response 0-10 kHz; field wiring up to 305 m.
The 330881-28-04-105-00-02 revolutionizes proximity probe installation by integrating the 3300 XL 8 mm probe and the Proximitor sensor into a single housing. Traditional proximity systems require three separate components: a probe, an extension cable, and a Proximitor sensor mounted in a separate enclosure. This requires additional labor, more mounting space, and introduces multiple interconnection points that can fail. The PROXPAC XL eliminates the extension cable entirely – the probe’s 1.0m integral cable connects directly to the Proximitor inside the housing cover.
The 330881-28-04-105-00-02 uses a housing made of Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS), an advanced thermoplastic reinforced with glass and conductive fibers. This material provides exceptional chemical resistance, mechanical strength, and dimensional stability over a wide temperature range (-51°C to +100°C for the housing). The conductive fibers dissipate electrostatic charges, preventing static buildup that could affect sensitive Proximitor electronics. The housing is rated IP66 (IEC) and Type 4X (NEMA), meaning it is dust‑tight and protected against powerful water jets. This allows direct mounting in washdown areas, outdoor cabinets, and other severe environments without an additional protective enclosure.
The 330881-28-04-105-00-02 provides the same measurement performance as the standard 3300 XL 8 mm system. The linear range is 2 mm (80 mils), starting at approximately 0.25 mm (10 mils) from the target and extending to 2.3 mm (90 mils). The recommended gap is 1.27 mm (50 mils), which centers the shaft in the linear range and produces an output of approximately -10 Vdc. The incremental scale factor is 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil) ±5% over 0-45°C. Frequency response is 0 to 10 kHz (+0, -3 dB), even with up to 305 meters (1,000 feet) of field wiring.
The 330881-28-04-105-00-02 Bently Nevada Proximity Transducer may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond
End-Of-Life (EOL)by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Radial Vibration: Monitoring the dynamic movement of a shaft within its bearings.
- Axial Position (Thrust): Detecting shaft movement along its axis to prevent catastrophic internal contact.
- Speed and Keyphasor: Measuring RPM and providing a timing reference for diagnostic phase analysis.
- Target Machinery: Widely used on steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, large motors, and heavy-duty pumps utilizing fluid-film bearings.
- Temperature Range: The probe tip can withstand temperatures from -51 °C to +177 °C (-60 °F to +350 °F).
- Environmental Protection: The housing is rated IP66 and Type 4X, making it resistant to dust, powerful water jets, and corrosive chemical exposure.
- Material Durability: The housing is made of glass-reinforced Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS), which provides high impact resistance and prevents static electricity buildup. It is designed to endure oily, steamy, and chemically aggressive atmospheres.
- Integrated Signal Conditioning: By housing the Proximitor sensor directly in the probe cap, the system reduces signal loss and susceptibility to noise compared to traditional split-component setups.
- Standardized Output: It provides a linear voltage output proportional to the gap between the probe tip and the target (typically 200 mV/mil or 7.87 V/mm).
- Self-Diagnostics: Compatible with the Bently Nevada 3500 Monitoring System, it supports "Not OK" status monitoring. If the sensor or internal wiring fails, the system identifies the fault to prevent false machine trips.
