Features:
- Accepts thirty-two independent discrete ON/OFF signals in one Series Three input module.
- Uses one external 24 VDC source for the complete input bank.
- Provides faceplate screw terminals mapped to controller references 400 through 437.
Pushbuttons, limit switches and relay contacts can each supply a discrete state to one of the module’s input circuits, giving the controller a direct view of common machine-contact conditions.
The input network distinguishes active and inactive field states with defined voltage and current thresholds rather than treating every nonzero signal as an ON condition.
Electrical loading and ambient temperature are linked at the top end of operation: all thirty-two circuits are supported through 58°C, while the curve shows twenty-seven active circuits at 60°C.
Apter Power can provide pricing and sourcing support for the General Electric IC630MDL302 24 VDC Sink Input Module used in established Series Three input racks.

Discrete contacts represented by the input bank
- Pushbuttons: Operator commands can be presented as individual ON/OFF input states.
- Limit switches: Mechanical position feedback can occupy a dedicated controller reference.
- Relay contacts: Interposing relay states can be monitored without combining them with another channel.
- Source arrangement: All of these field contacts are sensed from the common external 24 VDC supply.
How a channel resolves an ON or OFF state
- ON boundary: The active level is below 6.0 VDC with at least 5.0 mA ON current.
- OFF boundary: The inactive level is above 18.0 VDC with no more than 2.0 mA leakage.
- Channel current: Each input is rated at 7 mA under the stated field conditions.
- Response interval: Both ON and OFF transitions use a 3 to 12 ms delay.
Face-connector wiring and reference organization
- Screw connection: User field wiring terminates on the connector mounted at the module faceplate.
- Conductor capacity: A terminal accepts one No. 12 AWG wire or two No. 14 AWG wires.
- Reference span: The wiring diagram assigns input references 400 through 437 across sections A through D.
- Power entry: Dedicated connector terminals bring the user-provided 24 VDC source into the input circuits.
Current demand as more channels are energized
- Full-bank demand: Thirty-two energized inputs require up to 270 mA from the external source.
- Half-bank reference: Sixteen energized inputs typically use 125 mA of field-supply current.
- Internal demand: Module logic consumes 50 mA from the 5 VDC rack supply.
- High-ambient limit: The curve retains all points through 58°C and shows twenty-seven active circuits at 60°C.
