Features:
- Sixteen AC inputs are arranged as two separately supplied groups of eight points.
- Each group has its own neutral and may share or use a separate 115/230 VAC source.
- Front indicators show circuit state and can identify the programmed starting I/O address.
Two independent groups make it possible to keep different machine sections or voltage sources separated at the module while using one Series Five slot.
The removable terminal assembly preserves labeled conductors during exchange, and group-level neutrals give technicians a clear boundary for voltage checks.
Commissioning can proceed group by group: confirm the source and neutral first, then exercise each point and compare the LED indication with the controller input table.

Organizing the Two Eight-Point Groups
- Group boundary: Treat A and B as separate eight-circuit sections during labeling and testing.
- Neutral reference: Match every input to the neutral assigned to its own group.
- Source choice: Use one common supply only when the installation design permits both groups to share it.
- Fault isolation: If one group is inactive, verify its source and neutral before disturbing the other eight points.
Applying 115 or 230 VAC Field Power
- Voltage check: Confirm the actual source is within the 80–265 VAC operating range before connection.
- Frequency: Use a 48–63 Hz supply and keep source identification visible at the terminal block.
- Separate feeds: When groups use different sources, isolate and prove each feed independently.
- Safe return: Restore the neutral and source together so an apparently off point is not left with an unexpected reference.
Tracing an AC Input That Does Not Change State
- At the device: Confirm the field contact actually switches the assigned AC source.
- At the module: Measure between the selected input and its group neutral rather than another group’s neutral.
- At the indicator: Compare the point LED with the measured voltage to separate field wiring from rack mapping.
- At the controller: Check the starting I/O address when the LED changes but the programmed point does not.
Returning the Input Module to Service
- Identity: Match the complete catalog number, slot and removable terminal keying before installation.
- Group test: Energize one eight-point group at a time and verify its neutral reference.
- Point proof: Operate every connected device and record agreement between field state, LED and PLC input.
- Functional release: Restore dependent machine functions only after both groups pass the commissioning record.
