Overview Manuals Compatibility Environment Monitor Protection

Features:

  • IC600BF941 delivers four independently addressed 0–10 V outputs.
  • Each channel converts 12-bit data at one-part-in-4096 resolution.
  • Revision B operates in local and remote Series Six I/O racks.

IC600BF941 converts 12-bit Series Six output data into a unipolar 0–10 V signal on one of four independently addressed analog channels.

Each selected channel holds its commanded level until the CPU accesses it again, providing stable references for process-control and motor-speed applications.

Revision B supports local and remote I/O, while Revision A is restricted to local I/O; the manufacturer also specifies a 90-day calibration interval for maximum accuracy.

Apter Power can quote and source the General Electric IC600BF941 0–10 V Analog Output Module, provide the applicable manufacturer documentation, and assist with CPU compatibility, channel calibration, configuration, and replacement planning.

CPU, revision, and I/O compatibility

  • Revision B: IC600BF941B is documented for both local and remote I/O applications.
  • Revision A: IC600BF941A should be used only in local I/O applications.
  • CPU versions: Minimum serial-number requirements apply to Model 60, Model 600, and Model 6000 CPUs.
  • Reference allocation: The module uses 16 output-status bits, including the channel-selection code and 12 data bits.

Analog-output operating environment

  • Operating temperature: The documented module range is 0 to 60 °C at the outside of the rack.
  • Storage temperature: The manufacturer specifies −20 to +80 °C.
  • Relative humidity: IC600BF941 is intended for 5 to 95% non-condensing humidity.
  • Calibration ambient: For maximum accuracy, calibrate at the normal ambient temperature expected in service.

Monitoring four analog output channels

  • Channel selection: Two status-table bits identify which of the four channels receives the 12-bit value.
  • Held output: The selected voltage remains at its commanded level until that channel is accessed again.
  • Module indicator: A faceplate LED displays module status.
  • Calibration check: A five-digit DVM and IC600MA508A connector are used to verify low-end and high-end channel outputs.

Isolation and output safeguards

  • Optical isolation: The data path separates user field circuits from the Series Six controller bus.
  • Output drive: Each 0–10 V channel is specified for ±5 mA with up to 750 pF load capacitance.
  • Shared common: Field wiring must account for the common return shared by the four voltage-output channels.
  • Range changes: Recalibrate any channel after changing its on-board output-range jumpers.
Description
The General Electric IC600BF941 is the 0 to +10 V unipolar member of the Series Six four-channel analog output family.

For each selected channel, IC600BF941 converts twelve binary data bits to a voltage with one-part-in-4096 resolution. The output remains at that level until the CPU addresses the channel again.

An optically coupled data path and internal converter isolate the IC600BF941 user-side voltage circuitry from the I/O bus. Four single-ended outputs share the module common and support differential or single-ended receivers.

Revision B of IC600BF941 is documented for local and remote I/O, while revision A is restricted to local I/O. Gain and offset adjustments support periodic channel calibration.

FAQS

The following is a list of questions commonly asked by our customers. Please contact us if you have a question about our process that is not answered below.
Why does an IC600BF941 channel keep its last voltage between CPU updates?
IC600BF941 stores the converted value for each channel and maintains that output until the CPU selects and writes the channel again.
How should 12-bit data be written to IC600BF941?
IC600BF941 uses bits 1 through 12 for straight-binary output data and bits 13 through 14 for the channel number; bits 15 and 16 are unused.
Which IC600BF941 revision can be used in a remote I/O rack?
IC600BF941B is documented for both local and remote I/O applications, whereas IC600BF941A should be used only in local I/O.
What load can be connected to each IC600BF941 voltage output?
IC600BF941 permits up to ±5 mA at full voltage and specifies 750 pF as the maximum output load capacitance.
Why can separate receivers disagree when connected to one IC600BF941 output?
IC600BF941 uses a shared user-side common, so multiple receiver reference points must be connected together and remain at the same potential.
What can make the BOARD OK indicator turn off on IC600BF941?
IC600BF941 turns BOARD OK off for a board malfunction, rack-supply problem, CPU stop or Run Disabled state, or lack of access after those conditions clear.
How should periodic accuracy be restored on IC600BF941?
IC600BF941 should be calibrated about every 90 days at normal ambient temperature with a five-digit voltmeter and IC600MA508A calibration connector.
