Features:
- Adds an auxiliary I/O chain to compatible Series Six CPUs.
- Supports expanded Series Six Plus addressing with the required rack hardware.
- Provides chain, parity, and output-enable indications.
IC600CB513 extends the controller through a second path that is functionally similar to the primary I/O chain.
Its placement and shunt selection change with the CPU family, so the recorded rack build governs installation.
Troubleshooting must include the cable, receivers, remote rack power, and address map as well as the local module.

Define the auxiliary path before hardware work
- I/O chain: Map every rack and cable served by IC600CB513, including the first receiver and the address range assigned to each station.
- Chain separation: The auxiliary chain follows the Series Six I/O architecture but remains separate from the primary path.
- Recorded baseline: Avoid duplicate references and unrecorded cross-connections.
- Rack arrangement: Keep the topology drawing with the CPU rack record so a future replacement can be checked without tracing a live system.
Match position and shunts to the CPU family
- Module position: A Series Six Plus rack allows IC600CB513 in supported option positions, commonly slots 5 through 7.
- Operational effect: Model 6000 uses its own assigned location and shunt selection.
- Slot compatibility: Check the occupied slot, backplane hardware, and other communication options before moving the module.
- Controlled action: A mechanically open position is not automatically valid.
- Safe handling: Power down, use the extraction tool, and compare the full assembly label before insertion.
Interpret local indicators with downstream conditions
- Parity response: CHAIN OK, PARITY, and ENABLED reflect the state of the auxiliary path.
- I/O continuity: A receiver, cable, or remote power fault can therefore appear at IC600CB513.
- Indicator evidence: Capture the indicator pattern before resetting or reseating hardware.
- Address control: Verify continuity and addressing one section at a time to preserve fault evidence.
- Output control: Restore outputs only after the expected point map and safe field state have been confirmed.
Apply the supported assembly requirement
- RPU requirement: IC600CB513 assembly version R03 or later provides the enhanced filtering required for supported redundant-processor installations.
- Assembly identification: Read the assembly label on the board rather than inferring compatibility from the base model number.
- Recorded baseline: Record that label with the CPU software and RPU revision.
- Compatibility hold: Where the requirement cannot be confirmed, keep the module out of the final redundant build until the approved combination is reviewed.
