Features:
- Converts 24 V DC input into a stable 5 V DC output with safe electrical isolation.
- Provides current limitation, overvoltage protection, and short-circuit protection for reliable operation.
- Supports adjustable output voltage and balanced operation when multiple power supply modules are used redundantly.
Within an H51q PES installation, the HIMA F7126 forms the link between the 24 V DC main power source and the lower-voltage supply needed by the automation electronics. Converting the incoming supply to 5 V DC allows the module to support the internal power requirements of the control system from a standard 24 V DC source. Safe isolation between both voltage sides adds separation to the power path. The 10 A output capacity supports substantial system loading within the specified module limits. An 8 TE footprint allows the power conversion function to be incorporated directly into the PES hardware arrangement.
Protection functions are an important part of the HIMA F7126 power architecture. Current is limited at approximately 13 A, while the output remains protected against short circuits. Overvoltage protection is set around 6.5 V with the stated 0.5 V tolerance, helping prevent excessive output voltage from reaching connected system electronics. A 6.3 A slow-blow fuse protects the primary side, and conversion efficiency is at least 77%. Limit Class B compliance according to VDE 0871/0877 also defines the module's interference performance within the automation environment.
The HIMA F7126 also provides practical facilities for installation, commissioning, and redundant power arrangements. A test socket on the front plate gives maintenance personnel an accessible point for checking the output, while the front potentiometer enables continuous voltage adjustment of approximately 0.5 V. Factory adjustment is 5.4 V DC within 0.025 V, providing a defined reference before installation-specific trimming. When redundant F7126 units share the supply task, their output voltages need to remain within 0.025 V of each other to prevent unbalanced loading. Combined with the permitted 24 V DC input range of -15% to +20% and ripple below 15%, the module provides a controlled power source for H51q PES applications.
The F7126 HIMA Power Supply Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Input Conversion: The module receives a 24V DC external mains power input and efficiently converts it to a regulated 5V DC through internal safety isolation circuitry.
- Voltage Fine-tuning: Supports output fine-tuning via the potentiometer on the front operation panel. The factory default setting is 5.4V DC ± 0.025V.
- Load Current Limiting: When the current in the back-end central unit or input/output bus is too high, the module will automatically trigger internal electronic current limiting protection when the current reaches approximately 13A.
- Redundancy Current Sharing: When multiple modules are running in parallel, the output voltage difference between each module must be controlled within 0.025V to ensure load balance and seamless switching between units.
- Status Monitoring: Real-time indication of 5V output status via an integrated green LED on the front, along with a test jack for online measurement by engineers.
- Electrical Isolation: Meets stringent safety isolation standards, ensuring a reliable electrical isolation barrier between the high-voltage side and the internal low-voltage logic circuitry.
- Mechanical Structure: Employs a standard pluggable board design, with physical width strictly conforming to the 8 TE (rack unit) industrial mounting standard.
- Environmental Tolerance: Designed to meet industrial-grade operating environment specifications, maintaining stable full-rated power output even in harsh industrial environments with high temperatures and electromagnetic interference.
- System Compatibility: Fully compatible with the central rack and expansion rack electrical standards of the HIMA HIQuad (H41q/H51q) programmable electronic safety system.
- Safety System Power Supply: Primarily used for powering the central processing unit (CPU) of emergency shutdown (ESD) systems and fire and gas monitoring (F&G) systems.
- I/O Module Support: Provides highly stable low-voltage logic operation power for the input/output buses and supporting sensor interfaces of the safety system.
- Critical Equipment Redundancy: Offers 1+1 or N+1 critical power redundancy configurations for applications requiring uninterrupted operation in chemical, oil refining, and special industries.
- Historical System Maintenance: Widely used for the technical upgrading, spare parts replacement, and extended lifecycle maintenance of existing HIQuad safety control cabinets.
