Features:
- Connects eight NAMUR proximity-switch or resistor-wired contact circuits to a HIQuad safety controller.
- Separates process states from wire-break and short-circuit current conditions.
- Runs online checks of switching paths, crosstalk, input filters and module operation.
HIMA F3237 assigns one supervised current-measurement path to each of its eight field channels.
Its 8.2 V sensor supply and shunt network establish the current windows used for signal and fault evaluation.
The front cable plug carries channel conductors and shared supply connections between field wiring and the rack module.
The HIMA F3237 Safety-Related 8-Channel Input Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Supervised Sensor-Current Windows
- Signal Windows: The module interprets 0 and 1 states from separate sensor-current windows.
- Field Circuit: Each field circuit uses the module supply and its assigned resistor network.
- Channel Evaluation: The eight channels retain independent state evaluation before their data reaches the rack bus.
Open- and Short-Circuit Detection
- Wire Break: Current below the wire-break threshold identifies an open sensor circuit.
- Short Circuit: Current above the short-circuit threshold identifies an excessive-current fault.
- Normal Range: Normal switching remains between the supervised fault limits.
Online Channel Test Sequence
- Switching Test: Online testing checks that each input can switch on and off.
- Crosstalk Test: A walking-zero pattern tests crosstalk among the input circuits.
- Module Checks: Filter and module-function checks run alongside field-line supervision.
Sensor Supply and Cable Layout
- Front Plug: The Z 7108 front cable plug assigns two conductors to every input channel.
- Supply Distribution: Shared L+ and L- connections distribute the supervised field supply.
- Cable Boundary: Cable resistance and conductor size determine whether the 1000 m line limit can be used.
