Features:
- Ethernet Gateway Linking OPC-Compatible Clients to Trusted System Process Data
- Unified Platform Supporting Browse, Data Access, Alarm/Event, and Communications Functions
- Windows Service Deployment for Sustained Background Operation with Trusted Gateways
The ICS TRIPLEX T8030S Trusted OPC Server Package operates as the Windows Service-based OPC gateway for Trusted systems, providing standardized Ethernet connectivity for all OPC-compatible clients requiring process data access. It continuously maintains real-time communication between the Trusted system and external monitoring applications through the gateway PC module, ensuring seamless data transfer across the industrial network. Standard single-service operation is supported with the T8030S, however configuring the OPC Alarms & Event Interface will enable comprehensive alarm notification and event-driven reporting capabilities for safety-critical process conditions. The T8030S has made improvements in several areas over previous OPC server releases in addition to incorporating native Windows Service architecture for enhanced reliability and automatic startup within the host operating system.
The T8030S provides essential OPC communication functions common to the entire Trusted system integration, and is a critical component of the information access path, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of overall client-server data exchange. One T8030S service instance is required per gateway PC module to establish full OPC server functionality for the connected Trusted rack. The T8030S occupies the dedicated software server position on the gateway PC and is always located as the primary interface between the Trusted system Ethernet port and external OPC client platforms.
For comprehensive alarm and event management applications, the Trusted System requires activation of the OPC Alarms & Event Interface within the T8030S configuration. In addition to standard data access services, the event-enabled configuration also performs automatic alarm detection and logging. The T8030S alarm interface executes comprehensive event management using the internal Communications Interface specified in the server options. Using this method, the T8030S continually monitors the health of process alarm conditions. If the system detects that a critical process parameter has exceeded configured tolerance levels, it will automatically generate OPC alarm notifications to all connected clients and place an event in the System Event List.
The T8030S ICS TRIPLEX Trusted OPC Server Package may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
