Features:
- Interface Between the Universal AC/DC Power Source and I/A Series 200 Baseplate
- Combines Capability of AC/DC Power Conversion with Redundant Power Support
- Operates in Conjunction with the FBM/FCM/FCP Series and Standard I/A Series 200 Modules
The Foxboro FPS400-24 P0922YU operates as the Universal AC/DC Power Supply for I/A Series 200 baseplates, providing reliable DC power to all modules within the system. It continuously converts incoming AC power (85-265 VAC, 47-63 Hz) or DC power (108-145 VDC, nominal 125 VDC) to regulated 24 VDC and distributes this power through the baseplate to support steady state operation of all fieldbus modules and communication modules. Seamless power transfer is standard with the FPS400-24, however using an optional Redundant Power Configuration will allow seamless switchover to a backup supply in the event of a primary power failure. The FPS400-24 P0922YU has made improvements in several areas over previous power supply designs in addition to incorporating universal input voltage capability within the I/A Series system.
The FPS400-24 P0922YU provides essential power functions common to the entire baseplate, and is a critical component of the control path, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of the overall control system. One or two FPS400-24 P0922YU power supplies are required per baseplate depending on the desired redundancy level. The FPS400-24 P0922YU occupies only a single slot on the DIN rail and is always located in the dedicated power supply position.
For Dual Redundant Power applications, the I/A Series 200 system requires a second FPS400-24 P0922YU power supply module installed in the redundant slot. In addition to standard single supply operation, the redundant configuration also performs automatic switchover. The I/A Series dual power configuration executes failover using the internal circuitry specified in the power supply options. Using this method, the redundant power system continually monitors the health of both supplies. If the system detects that the primary power supply is no longer providing stable output (outside configured voltage/tolerance levels), it will automatically transfer the load to the secondary supply and trigger the relay status alarm output.
The Foxboro FPS400-24 P0922YU Universal AC/DC Power Supply may still be available for purchase and support from authorized distributors beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Industrial Automation: Powering production equipment such as robotic arms, CNC machines, and assembly line machinery.
- Oil & Gas: Supporting exploration and refining processes, including wellhead control systems and analyzers in harsh onshore and offshore locations.
- Power Generation: Ensuring the stability of control and monitoring systems, turbine control, and SCADA systems in power plants.
- Building Automation: Providing power to sensors, actuators, and controllers for HVAC and lighting systems.
- Operating Temperature: –30 to +71°C (–58 to +160°F).
- Storage Temperature: –55 to +85°C (–65 to +185°F).
- Relative Humidity: 5 to 95% (non-condensing) for both operating and storage conditions.
- Altitude: –300 to +3,000 m (–1,000 to +10,000 ft) during operation.
- Dual Stage Current Limiting: Operates as a constant voltage source. If the load exceeds 110% of maximum at 25°C, output voltage decreases toward zero until the overload is removed.
- Overvoltage Shutdown: Automatically shuts down to protect sensitive downstream components during voltage spikes.
- Relay Alarm Output: Features a Form C relay status alarm output for remote monitoring of power health.
- Sealed Housing: A gasketed, fanless design protects internal components from corrosive atmospheres (e.g., hydrogen sulfide and chlorine) and eliminates mechanical failure points.
- Power Factor Correction: Provides an active sinusoidal current profile for near-unity power factor on AC inputs.
