Features:
- Twenty-four integrated points combine input sensing and commanded outputs.
- BACnet/IP Ethernet links the controller to the APOGEE Automation Level Network.
- A 100 MHz processor runs control logic using SDRAM and flash memory.
Siemens PXC24.2-E.A is an APOGEE PXC Compact controller with local program execution and integrated field I/O.
The PXC24.2-E.A point mix separates input-only, universal, super-universal, analog-output, and relay-output terminals.
BACnet/IP lets PXC24.2-E.A exchange values with peer controllers and workstations while its onboard processor continues the control sequence.
The Siemens PXC24.2-E.A 24-Point BACnet/IP Programmable Controller may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Integrated Point Organization
- Universal inputs: Three UI terminals receive supported sensor or contact signals without serving as commanded outputs.
- Universal I/O: Nine UIO points are configured so each terminal performs its assigned input or output function.
- Super-universal I/O: Four super-universal points extend the configurable signal choices, including current-output operation.
- Analog outputs: Three dedicated outputs provide separate 0 to 10 V DC command paths.
- Digital outputs: Five relay circuits switch their documented AC loads independently of the low-voltage analog points.
Automation Network Role
- Ethernet link: The 10/100 Ethernet interface is the physical path from PXC24.2-E.A to the automation-level network.
- Native protocol: BACnet/IP carries controller objects and commands over that Ethernet connection.
- Peer exchange: Other field panels and workstations exchange BACnet values with the controller through the network.
- Local execution: The PXC processor continues its stored control sequence locally while BACnet/IP carries supervisory and coordination data.
Command Circuit Boundaries
- Universal output: A UIO point must be configured for a supported low-voltage output before it can send a command signal.
- Super-universal output: A super-universal point adds signal choices such as a 4 to 20 mA current command.
- Analog output: The three dedicated analog outputs supply 0 to 10 V DC signals to their assigned field devices.
- Digital relay: The five relay outputs switch documented AC loads and remain electrically distinct from the analog command circuits.
Program and Data Resources
- Processor: The 100 MHz MPC852T executes the control program and handles controller communication.
- Working memory: Sixteen megabytes of SDRAM hold the active program state and runtime data used by the processor.
- Flash storage: Eight megabytes of flash ROM retain the controller database and firmware resources without relying on working memory.
- Time retention: The battery-backed clock preserves time information used by scheduled control functions during normal power interruptions.
