Features:
- Twelve RJ45 access ports and two long-distance single-mode fiber ports form one managed Ethernet switch.
- Two 24 V DC inputs provide the redundant supply path monitored by the device fault system.
- Ring redundancy, PROFINET IO diagnostics, web management, and optional C-PLUG storage support network operation.
Siemens 6GK5212-2BC00-2AA3 switches copper and fiber traffic as the SCALANCE X212-2LD in the X-200 family.
The configurable fault mask links selected port and supply states to the fault LED and signaling contact.
DIN-rail, S7-300-rail, and wall mounting options place the IP30 switch inside the documented enclosure environment.
The Siemens 6GK5212-2BC00-2AA3 SCALANCE X212-2LD Managed Industrial Ethernet Switch may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Copper Access and Optical Uplink Paths
- Access layer: Twelve electrical ports connect local 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet devices.
- Optical layer: Two LD ports carry 100 Mbit/s traffic over single-mode fiber.
- Connector split: RJ45 connectors serve copper links while BFOC/ST connectors terminate the fiber paths.
- Status view: Individual port LEDs distinguish link presence, data reception, and fault-mask display.
Stored Fault Mask and Signaling
- Selected monitoring: The front button records which port states belong to the fault mask.
- Supply supervision: Both power inputs are monitored when both are present as the mask is saved.
- Local indication: A detected monitored fault lights the red fault LED.
- External indication: The floating signaling contact opens at the same time as the fault indication.
Redundancy-Manager Operation
- Default ring ports: The documented X212-2LD ring pair is available for a closed Ethernet ring.
- Normal state: The redundancy manager separates its two ring paths while the remaining ring is intact.
- Interrupted state: A detected break causes the manager to connect the two paths and restore an end-to-end line.
- Mode display: The RM LED distinguishes enabled, switched-over, and disabled redundancy states.
Management and C-PLUG Handling
- Browser access: Web-based management provides the documented network-configuration interface.
- Automation view: PROFINET IO device operation exposes switch diagnostics to a configured controller.
- Removable record: An optional C-PLUG stores device configuration separately from the switch electronics.
- Power boundary: The C-PLUG is inserted or removed only while switch power is off.
