Features:
- Four current outputs connect controller commands to HART field loops.
- Analog current and bidirectional HART data share each channel pair.
- Loop diagnostics report wiring and parameter faults to the ET 200iSP station.
The output value becomes a controlled loop current before reaching the field device.
HART communication passes device data over the established analog circuit.
Load, cable, grounding, and diagnostic settings are checked as one signal path.

Relating controller values to field current
- Output range: Each configured channel converts its digital value into the selected current range.
- Field path: The loop current passes through the connected device and returns through the assigned reference.
- Load limit: Cable and device resistance together remain within the 750 Ω boundary.
- Settling behavior: The connected load type determines how quickly a changed command stabilizes.
Carrying digital device data on the analog pair
- Shared conductors: HART communication uses the same wiring as the 4–20 mA signal.
- Device address: The configured HART identity must match the intended field instrument.
- Parameter path: Commands travel from the controller through the module to the field device.
- Return data: Status and parameter responses travel back through the channel to the controller.
Locating faults inside the output circuit
- Wire break: An interrupted loop prevents the commanded current from reaching the load.
- Short circuit: Abnormally low loop resistance activates the assigned diagnostic response.
- Parameter error: A range or channel setting that cannot be applied is reported separately.
- Status LEDs: Module indication works with controller diagnostics to narrow the affected path.
Keeping four channels inside their electrical limits
- Cable length: Shielded field wiring remains within the documented 500 m maximum.
- Shared potential: Channels are not isolated from one another, so reference planning is required.
- Backplane boundary: Module electronics remain isolated from the station bus.
- Commissioning: Each channel is tested with its actual device, load, range, and HART setting.
