Features:
- Full Channel-to-Channel Isolation for Signal Integrity
- Built-in Transmitter Power Supply for 2-Wire Devices
- Support for HART Communication and Redundancy
The YOKOGAWA AAI135-S00 S2 provides 500V AC isolation between each input channel and between all channels and the system. This eliminates ground loops, rejects common-mode noise, and prevents a fault on one channel from disrupting the rest of the I/O, ensuring reliable readings in electrically noisy industrial environments.
Each input channel on the YOKOGAWA AAI135-S00 S2 includes a dedicated loop power supply, delivering at least 15.0V at 20 mA. This allows direct connection of 2-wire transmitters without external power bricks, reducing cabinet wiring, panel space, and overall installation costs.
The YOKOGAWA AAI135-S00 S2 enables simultaneous 4-20mA analog measurement and HART digital communication (when ordered with -H option), allowing access to device diagnostic data and secondary variables. The module can also be deployed in a dual-redundant configuration, automatically switching to a standby module upon failure to maximize process availability.
The AAI135-S00 S2 YOKOGAWA 8-Channel Isolated 4-20mA Analog Input Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Temperature Range: Standard version supports 0 to 70°C ambient. With the "-3" suffix option, the module extends operation from -20 to 70°C for extreme environments.
- Humidity: Suitable for typical indoor industrial environments with non-condensing humidity (5-95% RH per Yokogawa cabinet specifications).
- Installation: Mounts inside certified Yokogawa node units / cabinets (such as AFV30/40, AFG series) that comply with FIO mechanical and thermal guidelines.
- Atmospheric Conditions: The optional ISA Standard G3 coating (suffix "3") protects against corrosion in environments with airborne sulfur, chlorine, or other industrial pollutants.
- Isolation Rating: 500V AC isolation between channels and between channels and the system (1-minute withstand test), ensuring electrical safety and noise rejection.
- Pollution Degree: Designed for Pollution Degree 2 environments (non-conductive pollution, or temporary conductivity due to condensation) as defined in IEC standards for industrial control equipment.
- Corrosion Protection: Optional ISA Standard G3 rating (suffix code "3") provides enhanced conformal coating for use in harsh industrial atmospheres with moderate levels of corrosive gases.
- Temperature and Storage: Extended temperature range option (-20 to 70°C operation) ensures reliable startup and performance in unheated cabinets or outdoor kiosks. Derating may apply for specific node unit configurations at high temperature (e.g., 60-70°C with ER bus nodes).
- Refining and Petrochemical Plants: Monitoring critical process variables (pressure, temperature, flow) from 4-20mA transmitters in volatile, high-noise environments where channel isolation prevents fault propagation.
- Power Generation Facilities: Connecting turbine lube oil pressure sensors, boiler drum level transmitters, and condenser water flow meters, benefiting from high accuracy (±16 µA) and redundant configuration support.
- Pharmaceutical and Biotech Manufacturing: Interfacing with sanitary pressure and temperature transmitters in clean rooms, where reliable HART communication allows access to calibration and diagnostic data without breaking the analog loop.
- Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants: Reading flow meters, level sensors, and chemical dosing feedback signals over long cable runs, where channel-to-channel isolation eliminates ground loop errors common in distributed outdoor installations.
