Features:
- 8 analog inputs + 8 analog outputs; saves rack space and reduces cost compared to separate modules.
- Supports 0‑10V, 0‑20mA, and 4‑20mA with 12‑bit resolution; external shunt resistors for current loops.
- Works with S100 I/O, Safeguard 400, 800xA, Advant OCS, MasterPiece 200, and Compact Product Suite; RoHS exempt spare part.
The DSAX110 integrates both analog input and analog output functions on a single board. It provides 8 analog input channels for monitoring field signals (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow) and 8 analog output channels for controlling field devices (e.g., valves, actuators, VFDs). This combined design is a significant advantage for legacy ABB S100 I/O systems where rack slots are limited. Instead of using separate analog input and output modules (occupying two slots), the DSAX110 fits in one slot, freeing space for other I/O modules. This reduces the overall footprint of the control system and lowers spare part inventory costs.
The DSAX110 accepts three standard analog input signal types: 0 to +10V (voltage), 0 to +20mA (current), and 4 to +20mA (live zero current). The inputs have 12‑bit unipolar resolution, providing 4096 discrete steps over the full range. This is sufficient for most industrial monitoring and control applications where high precision is not critical. For 4‑20mA current loop inputs, the module requires external shunt resistors to convert current to voltage. A 250Ω shunt (0.05% accuracy) is used for standard applications. When using DSTA 001 termination units, a 500Ω shunt with 0.1% accuracy is required. The inputs are single‑ended and directly grounded, meaning they share a common ground reference.
The DSAX110 is specifically designed for ABB's legacy S100 I/O platform and is compatible with a wide range of ABB control systems: Safeguard 400 (Series 1.6), 800xA, Advant OCS with Master SW (MasterPiece 200 and 200/1), Advant OCS with MOD 300 SW, and Compact Product Suite. This broad compatibility makes the DSAX110 a versatile spare part for various legacy installations. The module is exempt from EU RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU under Article 2(4)(c),(e),(f),(j) for ABB Advant Master Process Control Systems spare parts. This exemption is critical for operators of legacy systems in the EU – it allows the continued sale, installation, and use of the DSAX110 even though it may contain restricted substances such as lead. The declaration of conformity reference is 3BSE088609.
The DSAX110 ABB Analog I/O Board may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond
End-Of-Life (EOL)by the manufacturer (OEM).
