The ABB NDCU-33CX control unit is the core control unit of the ACS800 series rotor-side converter. It adopts a modular design, with the core consisting of a combination of NIOC-02C and AMC-33 boards (some configurations use AM33C boards). These two boards work together to achieve precise control and signal interaction throughout the entire rotor-side converter process. At the signal transmission level, this control unit establishes a connection with the rotor-side converter module via a fiber optic link. In conjunction with the APBU optical splitter, it completes the distributed transmission of fiber optic signals.
In terms of power supply and environmental adaptability, the ABB NDCU-33CX control unit boasts excellent practicality and resilience. It supports a wide voltage range of 24V DC ±10%, adapting to minor voltage fluctuations in industrial environments and preventing abnormal start-up and shutdown due to voltage deviations. Regarding current consumption, it operates at 350mA under typical conditions, with a maximum of no more than 400mA, demonstrating excellent energy control and reducing overall system power consumption. In terms of environmental adaptability, the unit operates within a free-air circulation temperature range of 0…+50°C and can be stored in temperatures ranging from -40…+70°C, handling temperature and humidity variations in different regions and scenarios.
It can withstand a maximum relative humidity of 90% (non-condensing), allowing for stable operation in humid industrial environments without the need for additional protective measures, making it suitable for most industrial scenarios. As a control unit specifically designed for the ACS800 series rotor-side converter, its functions are highly compatible with the converter, enabling precise control of the converter's operating status and providing core assurance for the efficient and stable operation of the entire drive system.
