Features:
- Interface Between the DSU (Diode Supply Unit) Rectifier and ACS800 Inverter Rack Backplane
- Combines Capability of AC/DC Power Conversion with Intelligent Rectifier Control Support
- Operates in Conjunction with the ACS800 Series Medium Voltage Drives and Standard DSU Modules
The ABB DSSB-01C 68300746 operates as the Main Control Board in a DSU unit, providing reliable DC bus voltage regulation and control signals to all modules within the ACS800 rack system. It continuously manages the rectifier operation to convert incoming three-phase AC power to regulated DC voltage and distributes control signals through the rack backplane to support steady state operation of all monitors and modules. Seamless voltage regulation is standard with the DSSB-01C, however using an optional Redundant Control Configuration will allow seamless switchover to a backup control board in the event of a primary control failure. The DSSB-01C has made improvements in several areas over previous control board designs in addition to incorporating universal communication protocol capability within the ACS800 rack.
The DSSB-01C provides essential control functions common to the entire DSU rectifier, and is a critical component of the power conversion path, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of the overall drive system. One or two DSSB-01C control boards are required per DSU unit depending on the desired redundancy level. The DSSB-01C occupies a dedicated slot in the DSU control section and is always located in the primary control position.
For Dual Redundant Control applications, the ACS800 System requires a second DSSB-01C control board module installed in the redundant slot. In addition to standard single board operation, the redundant configuration also performs automatic switchover. The ACS800 dual control configuration executes failover using the internal circuitry specified in the control board options. Using this method, the redundant control system continually monitors the health of both boards. If the system detects that the primary DSSB-01C is no longer providing stable control output (outside configured voltage/tolerance levels), it will automatically transfer the control to the secondary board and place an event in the System Event List.
The DSSB-01C 68300746 ABB Main Control Board may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
