The ABB RCNA-01 ControlNet Adapter Module provides a robust and flexible interface for ABB drives, allowing seamless communication over the ControlNet fieldbus. It supports bus, star, or tree topologies and operates at 5 Mbit/s using RG-6 quad shielded coaxial cables, ensuring reliable industrial network performance.
Designed to integrate directly into the option slot of the drive, the RCNA-01 allows control commands such as Start, Stop, and Run Enable, feeding motor speed or torque references, as well as process values to the PID controller. It also enables reading and writing drive parameters, status monitoring, and drive fault reset.
The module supports up to 450 bytes per connection in each direction, with node addressing configured via two decimal rotary switches. For redundant operation, both BNC connectors can be used, and a NAP (Network Access Port) allows temporary connection for configuration or diagnostic tools.
Engineered for durability, the RCNA-01 has a protection class of IP20, a maximum current consumption of 260 mA at 5 V, and a minimum estimated lifetime of 100,000 hours. All materials meet UL/CSA approvals, ensuring safe and reliable operation in demanding industrial environments.
