The ABB SDCS-AMC-DC-2 is a control and communication board designed to work with DCS600 drives equipped with the SDCS-CON-2 board and software S15.xxx. It features an onboard controller divided into two sections: one for speed regulation and torque reference generation, and another programmable section for custom control and regulation functions.
The board evaluates actual values from the CON-2 controller, generates torque references, and retransmits the data to the overriding control. It is equipped with three optical channels for high-speed communication: Channel 0 for overriding control data, Channel 2 for Master-Follower drive operation, and Channel 3 for PC tool connection for commissioning and maintenance.
Optical channels support maximum data rates of 4 Mb/s each, with driver currents of 30–50 mA, ensuring reliable communication between the control board and DCS600 drives. The board is designed for industrial environments, with storage temperatures from −40 °C to +55 °C, transport temperatures from −40 °C to +70 °C, and relative humidity of 5–95 % (non-condensing).
