Description
The SDCS-REB-1 interface card is designed to manage firing pulses for thyristors in ABB DCS drives, supporting configurations with 2 to 4 parallel-connected thyristors. When plugged into the SDCS-PIN-51 board, it routes firing commands to the SDCS-PIN-41 pulse transformer boards, ensuring that forward and reverse bridge pulses are accurately directed. This setup minimizes gate lead lengths and maintains efficient, reliable operation of the drive.

Electrically, the board requires an external +24V power supply and can handle up to four forward and four reverse bridge pulse transformer boards in conjunction with SDCS-REB-2. Firing pulse signals from X613 and X713, along with current direction signals SR1 and SR2, are amplified and distributed to eight output connectors, ensuring precise control. Optocoupler isolation prevents ground loops and maintains safe operation, while the isolated transistor output allows for monitoring supply voltage via a PLC.

The SDCS-REB-1 is compatible with SDCS-PIN-51 and SDCS-PIN-41 boards and requires secure installation using six M4 grounded mounting holes. Environmental tolerance follows standard ABB DCS operating conditions, ensuring reliable performance in industrial environments. External power supplies must be properly rated to maintain voltage stability and prevent firing pulse suppression.

FAQS

The following is a list of questions commonly asked by our customers. Please contact us if you have a question about our process that is not answered below.
How are the firing pulses routed?
Forward bridge pulses go to X613 and reverse bridge pulses go to X713 on SDCS-PIN-41.
How many forward and reverse bridges can it handle?
Up to 4 forward and 4 reverse bridges with proper external +24V supplies.
What is the transistor output rating?
60 V DC maximum, 50 mA, isolated output for PLC monitoring.
How should the board be mounted?
Six M4 mounting holes must be grounded using metal stand-offs for proper operation.
