More Information

Overview Manuals LCD Interface P1 Power Host Data Paths Product Applications

Features:

  • DTAM Plus interface: LCD and keypad for programmed operator interaction
  • 8 KB application memory: stores messages, data entry and controller references
  • Configurable host port: documented PLC-5 DF1 or DH-485 communication
2707-L8P1 provides a durable text-based operator interface for control systems that still depend on DTAM Plus applications.

Its communication mode and programmed data addresses are application choices, so matching the hardware alone does not restore panel operation.

Good recovery evidence includes the complete label, Series, application file, protocol, node settings, power wiring, transfer path and test results.

Availability of 2707-L8P1 is subject to Apter Power inventory and sourcing confirmation.

  • Messages: retain text, navigation and alarm definitions from the archive.
  • Data entry: verify controller destinations and allowed numeric ranges.
  • Keypad: test every programmed function during acceptance.
  • Temperature: keep LCD operation within the documented environmental range.
  • AC source: verify 15 to 23 V AC when the panel uses AC power.
  • DC source: verify 20 to 30 V DC and correct polarity for DC operation.
  • Protection: retain branch protection and grounding from the official design.
  • Voltage under load: measure at the terminal during startup and communication.
  • DF1 mode: record serial settings and the PLC-5 communication path.
  • DH-485 mode: preserve node addressing, interface hardware and network wiring.
  • Application addresses: compare every screen reference with the controller project.
  • Series control: use the terminal label to select the documented transfer procedure.
  • Text HMI panels: present programmed machine status and prompts.
  • Operator entries: send approved values to PLC data addresses.
  • Legacy networks: retain supported DF1 or DH-485 panel communication.
Description
Legacy panels that alternate between PLC-5 DF1 and DH-485 communication can use 2707-L8P1 as their DTAM Plus operator terminal. The LCD and keypad present the downloaded application while the selected network mode connects its messages and entries to controller data.

The downloaded application gives 2707-L8P1 its machine-specific behavior through navigation, alarm text, data references and programmed keypad functions. Its selected DF1 or DH-485 path then determines how those functions reach the controller.

Commissioning 2707-L8P1 should reproduce the recorded communication mode, node settings, cable arrangement and panel power before any application changes are attempted. The restored terminal should then be checked against the original screens and controller responses under normal operating conditions.

Technical notes
Loss of the machine application is the dominant risk when servicing 2707-L8P1. Before removal, save the validated terminal file, identify the hardware Series and documented transfer procedure, and record whether the panel uses PLC-5 DF1 or DH-485 communication so the replacement is not commissioned from defaults.

FAQS

The following is a list of questions commonly asked by our customers. Please contact us if you have a question about our process that is not answered below.
How should a technician decide whether 2707-L8P1 must be restored in PLC-5 DF1 or DH-485 mode?
Use the installed cable, controller interface, node record and archived terminal application; do not select a protocol from the connector appearance alone.
Why can 2707-L8P1 power up with a blank or unreadable LCD while controller communication continues?
Check the panel supply under load, operating temperature, contrast or display condition and terminal diagnostics before changing network settings.
What causes keypad functions on 2707-L8P1 to differ after a replacement terminal is downloaded?
A different application revision, hardware Series or address map can alter programmed keys; compare the archive and original acceptance record before editing screens.
When can 2707-L8P1 be restored safely from an existing application file?
Confirm the file belongs to the same machine, matches the terminal Series and communication mode, and can be transferred with the documented software and cable.
How should a DH-485 node conflict involving 2707-L8P1 be corrected?
Identify every node on the installed network, assign the recorded unique address, check interface hardware and wiring, then reconnect one device at a time.
What should be tested before 2707-L8P1 returns to operator service?
Exercise message navigation, every programmed key, numeric entry, alarm acknowledgement and controller communication, and compare the results with the approved machine procedure.
