Features:
- Interface Between the Universal AC Power Source and 3300 XL 50 mm Transducer System
- Combines Capability of High-Temperature Signal Transmission with Armored Cable Protection
- Operates in Conjunction with the 50 mm Probe and 3300 XL 50 mm Proximitor Sensor
The 330877-080-37-05 operates as the 8.0-meter Extension Cable in the 3300 XL 50 mm Transducer System, providing reliable signal transmission between the probe and proximitor sensor. It continuously maintains signal integrity across its 8.0 meters (26.2 feet) length while withstanding ambient temperatures up to 200°C (392°F) continuous and intermittent spikes up to 250°C (482°F). Seamless electrical connection is standard with the 330877-080-37-05, however using the FluidLoc cable construction with armor protection will ensure reliable performance in harsh steam turbine environments where moisture and mechanical damage are present. The 330877-080-37-05 has made improvements in several areas over previous extension cable designs in addition to incorporating high-temperature FluidLoc technology within the 50 mm transducer line.
The 330877-080-37-05 provides essential connection functions common to the entire transducer system, and is a critical component of the measurement path, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of the differential expansion monitoring system. One 330877-080-37-05 extension cable is required per probe depending on the installation distance from the proximitor sensor. The 330877-080-37-05 occupies the connection pathway between probe and sensor and is always located in the signal transmission chain (between the 50 mm probe and the 3300 XL 50 mm Proximitor Sensor).
For Dual Redundant Measurement applications, the 3300 XL 50 mm System requires two separate transducer assemblies each with their own 330877-080-37-05 extension cable installed in the measurement path. In addition to standard single cable operation, the redundant configuration also performs complementary monitoring. The 3300 XL 50 mm dual transducer configuration executes differential expansion measurement using the long linear range specified in the 50 mm probe options. Using this method, the redundant measurement system continually monitors the rotor position from both sides of the collar. If the system detects that one measurement path is no longer providing stable output (outside configured tolerance levels), it will automatically rely on the secondary path and maintain accurate differential expansion data for turbine protection.
The 330877-080-37-05 Bently Nevada 3300 XL 50 mm Extension Cable may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Differential Expansion (DE): Specifically designed to measure the relative growth between a turbine rotor and its casing (stator) in large steam turbine generators.
- Rotor Expansion (RX): Monitoring axial movement where standard-range probes are insufficient.
- Aggressive Environments: Used in harsh steam turbine environments where moisture resistance and high-temperature durability are required.
- System Upgrades: Serves as a robust replacement for older 7200 series 50 mm and 130713 DE systems.
- Standard Operating/Storage: -51°C to +200°C (-60°F to +392°F).
- Short-term Exposure: Can withstand up to +250°C (+482°F) for less than 24 hours.
- Moisture & Fluid Resistance: Utilizes FluidLoc cable technology, which prevents moisture, oil, and other liquids from entering the probe tip or leaking out of the machine through the cable interior.
- Outer jacket made of PFA (perfluoroalkoxyethylene) for high chemical resistance.
- Connector Type: Features ClickLoc connectors, which are gold-plated and corrosion-resistant.
- Locking Mechanism: Requires only finger-tight torque and "clicks" when secure to prevent loosening.
- Strength: Rated for a tensile strength of 270 N (60 lbf) at the connectors.
- Field Wiring: Recommended for use with three-conductor shielded triad cable for distances up to 305 meters (1,000 feet) to the monitor.
