The Bently Nevada 330232-05-05-12-05 Button Probe combines high-performance sensing with a compact design suitable for demanding industrial applications. Its 90° molded PPS and stainless steel tip provides exceptional durability while maintaining a minimal tip height of 8.4 mm, allowing it to fit into existing button probe installations or customized brackets.
Designed for integration with Bently Nevada 3300 XL systems, the 330232-05-05-12-05 Button Probe supports both radial vibration and thrust position measurements. Its 80 mil linear range and 200 mV/mil scale factor make it a versatile solution for a variety of machinery monitoring needs, simplifying maintenance and spare parts management across facilities.
With FluidLoc® coaxial cables and an extended operating temperature range of -51°C to +177°C, this probe ensures reliable performance in harsh environments. The standardized design shortens lead times and reduces the complexity of installation, making the 330232-05-05-12-05 Button Probe a preferred choice for both legacy upgrades and new equipment setups.
The 330232-05-05-12-05 Bently Nevada Button Probe may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

- Connector Protection: Button probe connectors are extremely fragile. Connector protectors (transparent sleeves) or heat shrink tubing must be used to prevent oil and moisture from entering the connector and causing signal drift.
- Physical Clearance: When installed inside bearing housings, ensure the cable routing is not rubbed against the rotor or rotating parts. Wear and tear on the cable sheath can lead to shielding failure and data errors.
- Cable Securing: Use stainless steel cable clamps to secure the cable and prevent metal fatigue or breakage at the cable root due to vibration during operation.
- Environmental Sealing: If installed in an oil mist chamber, ensure the cable sealing glands are intact to prevent lubricating oil from flowing along the cable to the external instrument box.
- Series Migration: This probe is from the 3300 XL series and can directly replace the older 7200 or 3300 5mm/8mm button probes, providing better linearity and wider temperature stability.
- Material Upgrade: If the environment has extremely strong chemical corrosion, it is recommended to upgrade to the 330231 (All-PPS) model, whose all-plastic construction offers better corrosion resistance.
- Armor Upgrade: If the field cabling lacks protective conduit, consider replacing it with an extension cable with SST armor to enhance resistance to mechanical damage and rodent bites.
- System Integration: It is recommended to use it with the 3300 XL Proximitor and connect it to the 3500 system or Orbit 60 for a higher level of waveform analysis and self-diagnostic capabilities.
- Confined Space Installation: Specifically designed for areas where standard 3/8-24 or M10 probes cannot be installed vertically due to height limitations (e.g., inside compact radial bearings).
- 90-Degree Mounting: Suitable for situations where the probe mounting hole is perpendicular to the rotor axis and there is insufficient external space to accommodate a long probe body.
- Small Machine Radial Vibration: Commonly used inside the housings of small motors, pumps, or centrifuges to directly monitor the radial vibration of the rotor journal.
- Thrust/Axial Position Assisted Monitoring: Utilizing the flatness of a button probe to measure axial displacement in certain customized thrust bearing blocks.
