The 330500-01-02 Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensor operates as a specialized vibration measurement device in industrial machinery applications, providing reliable velocity-based vibration data of bearing housing, casing, or structural vibration absolute to free space. It continuously measures vibration signals originating from common machine malfunctions such as unbalance and misalignment, and transmits this data through standard industrial interfaces to support condition monitoring and predictive maintenance systems. Seamless orientation mounting is standard with the 330500-01-02, allowing vertical, horizontal, or any angle of installation without mechanical degradation or wear. The 330500-01-02 has made improvements in several areas over previous velocity sensor designs in addition to incorporating solid-state electronics with no moving parts within the transducer housing.
The 330500-01-02 provides essential vibration monitoring functions common to the entire machinery protection system, and is a critical component of the monitoring path, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of the overall machine condition monitoring system. One or multiple 330500-01-02 sensors are required per machine depending on the desired monitoring coverage level. The 330500-01-02 occupies minimal mounting space on bearing housings or machine casings and is always located on vibration transmission paths where rotor vibration is significantly conducted to the casing.
For comprehensive machinery protection applications, the monitoring system requires proper installation of 330500-01-02 sensor modules at critical measurement points on bearing housings or machine casings. In addition to standard signal output, the 330500-01-02 also performs continuous vibration measurement. The 330500-01-02 monitoring configuration executes measurement using the internal piezoelectric accelerometer circuitry specified in the transducer specifications. Using this method, the monitoring system continually tracks machinery vibration patterns. If the system detects electrical noise from interference and the transducer circuit when integrating output to measure displacement, it may amplify noise and degrade performance of 330500-01-02 transducers, producing inaccurate displacement data.
The 330500-01-02 Bently Nevada Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensor may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
