Features:

  • Four-Channel Monitor for Machinery Protection Applications
  • Continuous Comparison of Monitored Parameters Against Configurable Alarm Setpoints
  • Operates in Conjunction with the M Series and Standard 3500 Monitors
The 3500/42M 140734-02 operates as a Proximitor/Seismic Monitor in a 3500 rack, providing continuous monitoring of critical machine parameters including radial vibration, thrust position, and acceleration. It continuously processes signals from proximity probes, velocity sensors, and accelerometers, comparing measured values against user-configured alarm setpoints to detect abnormal machine conditions. Seamless integration with the 3500 system is standard with the 3500/42M 140734-02, and using an optional Redundant Monitor Configuration will allow continued protection in the event of a primary monitor failure. The 3500/42M 140734-02 has made improvements in several areas over previous monitor designs in addition to incorporating enhanced signal processing capabilities within the 3500 rack.

The 3500/42M 140734-02 provides essential monitoring functions common to machinery protection applications, and is a critical component of the protection path, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of the overall protection system. One or two 3500/42M 140734-02 monitors may be used per rack depending on the number of channels required. The 3500/42M 140734-02 occupies a single full-height slot in the rack and can be located in any available monitor slot.

For Critical Machinery applications, the 3500 System may utilize multiple 3500/42M 140734-02 monitor modules to provide comprehensive coverage of machine train components. In addition to standard single channel operation, the 3500/42M 140734-02 also performs channel pairing for differential measurement applications. The 3500/42M 140734-02 executes signal conditioning using the internal circuitry specified in the monitor options. Using this method, the 3500/42M 140734-02 continually processes the health of all four channels. If the system detects that a measured parameter exceeds configured alarm thresholds (outside configured tolerance levels), it will automatically activate relay outputs and place an event in the System Event List.

The 3500/42M 140734-02 Bently Nevada Proximitor/Seismic Monitor may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
