The Bently Nevada 990-05-70-01-CN 990 Vibration Transmitter is designed for OEMs of centrifugal air compressors, small pumps, motors, or fans who require a simple, reliable 4–20 mA vibration signal for machinery control systems. The transmitter is a two-wire, loop-powered device that accepts input from 3300 NSv proximity probes and their matching extension cables, with system lengths available up to 7.0 meters.
This transmitter conditions the vibration signal into peak-to-peak amplitude engineering units and provides a proportional 4–20 mA output to the control system. This allows machinery protection, alarming, and logic functions to occur seamlessly, without requiring an external Proximitor sensor. Its integrated design ensures compactness and ease of installation.
The 990 Vibration Transmitter includes several notable features to support reliable operation. It has non-isolated PROX OUT and COM terminals plus a coaxial connector for dynamic vibration and gap voltage diagnostics. Non-interacting zero and span potentiometers under the transmitter label allow loop adjustment without affecting signal integrity. The built-in Test Input pin enables quick loop verification using a function generator. Additionally, the Not OK/Signal Defeat circuit prevents high outputs or false alarms due to a faulty proximity probe or loose connection.
Installation flexibility is ensured with DIN-rail clips or bulkhead mounting screws. The transmitter operates reliably within -35°C to +85°C (-31°F to +185°F) and can be stored at temperatures from -52°C to +100°C (-62°F to +212°F). Its robust power input range of +12 to +35 Vdc allows it to function in a variety of industrial environments, providing dependable vibration measurement for machinery protection.
