Features:
- Interface Between High-Precision Sensors and Hydraulic/Electric Actuators
- Combines Capability of Real-Time Data Processing with Strip Position Control
- Operates in Conjunction with the EMG SPC 16 Digital Control System and Servo-Valves
The EMG SPCC1-7 operates as the Central Processing Board in the EMG SPC 16 system, providing reliable logic control and communication coordination to all components within the strip position control loop. It continuously processes real-time data from inductive or optical sensors and converts this information into precise control signals to regulate hydraulic or electric actuators, supporting steady state operation of strip tracking and centering functions throughout the production line. Seamless integration is standard with the EMG SPCC1-7, however utilizing its advanced feedback loop management will allow instantaneous path adjustments in the event of strip wandering or position deviation. The EMG SPCC1-7 has made improvements in several areas over previous control board designs in addition to incorporating high-speed algorithm execution capability within the EMG ecosystem.
The EMG SPCC1-7 provides essential control functions common to the entire strip position control system, and is a critical component of the production path, directly affecting the proper, normal operation of the overall metal processing line. One EMG SPCC1-7 processing board is required per EMG SPC 16 system depending on the desired control precision level. The EMG SPCC1-7 occupies a central position in the control architecture and is always integrated as the primary logic and communication hub for the strip position control system.
For Dual Redundant Control applications, the EMG SPC 16 System may utilize additional backup control mechanisms installed in the redundant configuration. In addition to standard single board operation, the redundant configuration also performs automatic failover. The EMG dual control configuration executes switchover using the internal circuitry specified in the control system options. Using this method, the redundant control system continually monitors the health of both processing paths. If the system detects that the primary EMG SPCC1-7 board is no longer providing stable control output (outside configured position/tolerance levels), it will automatically transfer the control load to the secondary path and place an event in the System Event List.
The SPCC1-7 EMG Central Processing Board may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
