More Information

Overview Manuals Sensor Interface Mechanical Setup Derived Values Application
  • Match the configured bridge type to the exact inductive sensor
  • Center mechanical travel before setting zero and span
  • Validate sum or difference values only after both channels pass independently

EPRO MMS6410 is a two-channel amplifier for inductive displacement sensors in half-bridge, full-bridge or differential-transformer configurations.

It supports static and dynamic displacement as well as derived measurements such as angle, force or torsion, and can process channels independently or calculate sum and difference values.

Before replacement, record sensor type and wiring, carrier requirements, zero and zero shift, sensitivity, direction, channel combination, ranges, alarms, relays, outputs, bypasses and saved configuration.

Availability, condition, price, and shipping time for MMS6410 are confirmed during quotation.

  • Confirm half-bridge, full-bridge or differential-transformer wiring
  • Keep carrier load within the documented range
  • Verify polarity and cable shield before calibration
  • Center the sensor across the required travel
  • Avoid linkage side load and binding
  • Establish the approved zero and zero-shift reference
  • Calibrate each channel independently first
  • Use sum or difference only for the documented geometry
  • Test alarms and outputs at known mechanical positions
  • Turbine casing or differential expansion measurement
  • Valve, guide-vane and actuator position monitoring
  • Force, angle or torsion measurement with compatible inductive transducers
Description
MMS6410 is an Emerson/epro MMS 6000 dual-channel measuring amplifier for inductive displacement sensors.

It supports half-bridge, full-bridge and differential-transformer inputs, a 0 to 100 Hz measuring range, a 4.75 kHz carrier and independent, sum or difference processing.

Confirm bridge wiring, carrier load, polarity, mechanical zero and channel calibration before validating derived measurements.

Technical notes
MMS6410 is an inductive-sensor amplifier. Do not connect an eddy-current probe converter or assume PR9350 wiring without checking bridge type, carrier supply and terminal map.

FAQS

The following is a list of questions commonly asked by our customers. Please contact us if you have a question about our process that is not answered below.
Which sensor arrangements can EPRO MMS6410 accept?
Use documented inductive half-bridge, full-bridge or differential-transformer sensors such as compatible PR9350 variants, with the correct coil wiring and carrier load.
Can EPRO MMS6410 reuse a saved scale when the LVDT is replaced?
Only after confirming the same sensor range, sensitivity, bridge connection, polarity, linkage and mechanical zero, followed by a complete zero and span check.
Why can EPRO MMS6410 show drift even when the electronics pass self-test?
Inspect sensor mounting, linkage, temperature, coil balance, cable and shield, carrier supply, connector resistance and the configured zero shift.
What must be recorded before removing EPRO MMS6410?
Record both sensor models and bridge wiring, zero and zero shift, range, sensitivity, direction, sum or difference logic, limits, outputs and rack slot.
When should EPRO MMS6410 use a channel sum or difference?
Only when the two sensors are mechanically arranged and scaled for the intended derived quantity, such as differential expansion or compensated displacement.
What should be checked if one EPRO MMS6410 channel saturates?
Check mechanical overtravel, sensor centering, coil wiring, open or short circuits, carrier supply, range, zero shift and whether the configured bridge type matches the sensor.
How should EPRO MMS6410 be commissioned after installation?
Move through known mechanical positions, verify zero, span, direction and repeatability on each channel, then validate any sum or difference result and all alarm outputs.
