Features:
- Uses the 8 mm PR 6423 probe family with a 5 m unarmored cable without adapter plug and with open conductors.
- Provides a 2 mm linear measuring range through a 5 m chain without an adapter plug.
- Selects reverse mounting with 5 m total cable and an open cable end.
The current ordering configuration is
PR6423/10R-111, the PR 6423 8 mm Eddy-Current Sensor documented for AMS 6500 Machinery Health.
In the intended system role, the probe forms a calibrated eddy-current chain with an approved converter for non-contact measurement of shaft displacement, vibration or speed.
For selection and commissioning, match the converter, target material, total cable, termination and reverse-mount geometry before installation. Set the initial gap only after the full measuring chain is assembled.
Availability is subject to Apter Power inventory and sourcing confirmation.

- Measures radial shaft vibration in a chain configured with a 5 m unarmored cable without adapter plug and with open conductors, for its documented operating duty.
- Tracks axial position changes through the 5 m probe-to-converter path without an adapter plug, through the intended receiving-system interface.
- Provides dynamic gap information through the 5 m lead and an open cable end to the monitoring electronics, in the configured and commissioned installation.
- The sensor body and first metre of cable carry the probe-family temperature rating, for the documented sensor or probe zone.
- Condensation must be excluded from the open-conductor termination, at every exposed connection point.
- Thermal gradients near the machine should not place the converter outside its separate limits, throughout steady-state machinery operation.
- The reverse probe is secured from the rear of the machine bracket, so the installed interface matches the documented arrangement.
- Open conductors terminate according to the converter wiring diagram and shield practice, without changing the defined hardware or signal path.
- A rigid holder and the specified clearance around the tip preserve linearity, before the channel or assembly is accepted for service.
- Work on the probe chain only after the monitored machine is in a safe state, before normal operation is permitted.
- Keep alarm and trip functions bypassed until polarity and gap are proven, within a correctly protected installation.
- Use ESD and cable-protection practices specified in the installation guide, throughout configuration and maintenance work.
