Features:
- Adds 24 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs to a connector-panel I/O Link group.
- Uses the Expansion B configuration without a manual pulse generator interface.
- Works as one of as many as three local extensions behind a connector-panel basic unit.
The module expands machine-side signal capacity without creating a separate I/O Link group.
Its role and position are defined by the basic-unit connection, flat cable and extension selector.
Cabinet layout must keep wiring and ventilation clear while respecting the documented output limits.
The GE Fanuc A03B-0815-C003 Connector Panel I/O Expansion Module B may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Basic and Extension Relationship
- Basic Unit: A03B-0815-C001 begins the local connector-panel I/O group.
- Expansion Capacity: One basic unit accepts as many as three local extensions.
- Expansion Role: A03B-0815-C003 contributes 24 inputs and 16 outputs without an MPG interface.
- Address Position: The rotary selector follows the occupied extension position, including gaps.
Digital Output Boundaries
- Point Load: Each output supports up to 200 mA including momentary current.
- Saturation: The on-state saturation voltage is 1 V maximum at 200 mA.
- Off State: Leakage current is limited to 20 µA maximum.
- Response Path: The 50 µs driver delay is added to I/O Link transfer and ladder-scan time.
Cabinet and Cable Practices
- Enclosure: Install the connector-panel modules in a fully enclosed cabinet.
- Clearance: Keep at least 100 mm above and below the module group for wiring and ventilation.
- Ventilation: Do not place heat-generating equipment below the I/O modules or cover basic-unit vents.
- Inter-Unit Cable: A03B-0815-K100 provides the 20 mm flat connection for 32 mm module spacing.
Connector-Panel Variants
