Features:
- Receives thirty-two low-voltage discrete inputs through one Series Three I/O position.
- Interfaces directly with TTL and CMOS logic-level sources.
- Separates the field bank across two 40-pin faceplate connectors.
The input circuits can operate from either a 5 VDC or 12 VDC field source, allowing the module to follow the logic family already used by the connected equipment.
Each point retains its own controller reference, while the complete module consumes two sixteen-reference blocks in sequence. That allocation is part of the rack addressing decision, not merely a wiring detail.
Electrical thresholds, input current, and source demand change with the selected field voltage, so commissioning checks should use the corresponding 5 V or 12 V limits rather than one shared test value.
Apter Power can support sourcing review for the General Electric IC630MDL303 5-12 VDC Sink Input Module and its Series Three connection requirements.

Low-voltage devices served by the input interface
- TTL logic: The module is intended to accept discrete states produced by transistor-transistor logic circuitry.
- CMOS logic: Complementary MOS outputs can use the same thirty-two-point interface when their levels match the chosen supply window.
- Single source: Every point is sensed from one common external 5-12 VDC supply arrangement.
- Discrete result: Each circuit presents one independent ON/OFF state to the controller.
How thirty-two points occupy the rack address space
- Two-block use: The module takes the sixteen references assigned to its own slot and the next sixteen references.
- Slot-one example: A first-position module is represented by references 00 through 37.
- Following position: A module in slot two begins at reference 40 because the previous thirty-two-point allocation has already consumed two blocks.
- Base capacity: An eight-slot base filled with these modules contains 256 I/O points, numbered 000 through 377 on the first base.
Separate recognition limits for 5 V and 12 V operation
- 5 V ON state: A valid active signal is 0.75 VDC maximum and draws 2-4 mA.
- 5 V OFF state: The inactive level is 4.25 VDC minimum with no more than 0.3 mA.
- 12 V ON state: A valid active signal is 6.8 VDC maximum and draws 2-13 mA.
- 12 V OFF state: The inactive level is 12.2 VDC minimum with the same 0.3 mA maximum current.
Faceplate connection pattern for the full input bank
- Connector count: Two 40-pin connectors carry the user wiring into the module.
- Upper group: The first connector serves the initial sixteen points and its field-power connections.
- Lower group: The second connector continues the remaining sixteen references with the same shared source.
- Cable requirement: Two interface cable paths are needed to present all thirty-two signals at the faceplate.
