Features:
- Accepts eight independent 97-132 VAC discrete input circuits.
- Provides an LED for every input point to support local status checks.
- Allows separate AC sources to be connected to individual channels.
Each input circuit uses two field terminals, so the channels do not share one field common.
An 80 VAC minimum ON threshold and a 20 VAC maximum OFF threshold define clear input-state limits.
The module occupies eight consecutive I/O references and draws 50 mA from the rack 5 VDC supply.
The General Electric IC630MDL326 Isolated AC Input Module may still be available for purchase and support from Apter Power beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Keeping AC sources electrically separate
- Independent channels: Each of the eight inputs has its own two field terminals.
- Source flexibility: Separate channel wiring permits different AC sources or phases where the cabinet design allows them.
- Logic coupling: All input circuits transfer status through an optical-coupler path to rack logic.
- Fault containment: A wiring problem on one field source does not require a shared field common across every point.
Checking a channel that will not change state
- ON threshold: Confirm the signal reaches at least 80 VAC at the assigned input terminals.
- OFF threshold: A field signal at or below 20 VAC should be interpreted as OFF.
- Nominal range: The module is specified for 97-132 VAC at 50 or 60 Hz.
- Current check: Typical input current is 19.5 mA at 115 VAC and 60 Hz.
Planning the field connections
- Point terminals: Route both field conductors for each input to its dedicated terminal pair.
- LED reference: Use the point LED as a local indication while comparing the physical channel with controller status.
- Phase control: Keep separately sourced channels identified before disconnecting or moving wiring.
- Rack assignment: Match the terminal point to the eight consecutive I/O references assigned to the slot.
Accounting for input response and rack load
- ON response: A valid field transition is specified with a typical 10-40 ms ON delay.
- OFF response: Removal of the field signal has a typical 10-60 ms OFF delay.
- Address span: The module consumes eight consecutive input references in the Series Three rack.
- Backplane demand: Reserve 50 mA from the rack 5 VDC supply for the installed module.
